    Not yer run-of-mill

First, the channel I've been watching this series on has had some really bad problems since the end of last month. All of their programmed movies and series have been unavailable and really, really, REALLY crappy music concerts and documentaries have been in place of the good stuff. I have been waiting for an eternity to get my Laura German/Tom Ellis fix and tonight, as though nothing ever happened, LUCIFER was back.

Flash back episodes are usually anvil throwing trashtaculars passed off when writers are on strike or there's some other problem. No anvils, no crapola, just a really good story that goes back to when Father has sent his favourite son to send back Lucifer to hell. With the exception of Linda Martin, everyone makes an appearance -- even Trixie via telephone, although unheard. Ah, right sorry, no Welling and no Ella

Great story-telling, all the usual points covered, beautiful women, drinking, the black corvette, some singing of Ch-ch-ch-changes, whipped cream -- sigh.

You'll enjoy this outing. But I'm not telling you any more. You'll have to wait for YOUR local station.

Inconsistency again in story-introduction of characters

Lucy supposedly arived at the beach where, mazikeen cut of his wings. And in some previous episode he coments on Amandels human clothes like he is wearing it for the first time....

    Good but not well past

In this episode, we see the past of Lucifer. It is not that much entertaining but still worthy to watch despite of anything. 👍

Would have been a very good pilot episode.

This is a fairly good episode which basically introduced us - again - to the main characters. While enjoyable to watch the history behind the character development it felt more like a pilot episode than an addition to the series. If there were half stars this would have gotten 7.5.

A bit too much retconning to my liking

This one takes place in the past, and it adds unnecessary context to character traits and origins. This didn't need to be made.

I'm starting to realise why this season is 26 episodes long.

Lucifer's suit at the beginning of the episode resembles the suit worn by Lucifer in Constantine (2005). Both are adaptations of the vertigo comic character.
    • Quotes

Lucifer Morningstar: Oh, i haven't heard music like that since... well, since the Silver City.

Amenadiel: What, there's no music in hell?

Lucifer Morningstar: Only for torture, and usually out of tune. Lately we've been playing music by this chap named Bieber. Gosh, you should hear the screams.
