    Good episode

    4 out of 5 stars.

The episode continues with its story development. It reveals more about Rycrofts past. The orphanage. And trying to discover a secret about the beasts that been murdering around the city.

    Needs more

Much the same template as before. Excruciating performances from most of the characters, excluding Orlando Bloom who is just wooden. Dull plotting and a constant focus on style over substance. Needs more!

    Not for jaded peabrains

We see just how deep the bigotry in this world goes, we see much more of the cool magic and lore that is possible in this world, and a huge secret is revealed in an amazingly emotional scene. My favorite episode so far.

There was nothing except the clamoring and murmuring!

I think I am the first one to review this episode. In this episode the plot really does little progression and there is hardly any character development for the viewer to get interested. I almost slept while watching this episode, I don't understand how the mass production binged this TV series - this is not Stranger Things! Apart from the songs, there is nothing to write about. All we see is flashbacks, though it will be easy for the audience to guess without revealing much.

Cara Delevigne is surprising sweet and beautiful. She has improved her acting skills a lot. I'll try watching the rest of the episodes in hopes that the script keeps my interest.

    Hauntingly beautiful

This episode was perfect. It helped build more of the world in which carnival row takes place and then explored more of the characters backstories and traits. The soundtrack was beautiful

    • Trivia
Orlando Bloom and "Carnival Row" costume designer Joanna Eatwell collaborated closely on the look of 'Philo.' Something that was important to them both was to give the character a sort of 'super hero-like' appearance, so that even if audiences only saw Philo's silhouette, they'd instantly recognize his character.
    • Goofs
At 18.15, the window behind Philo is closed. But later in the same scene, starting at 19:28, the window is open and the curtains moving in the wind. Even if that is explained as part of his remembering, the window is still open as he stands up to leave (at 20:00).
