    One sided

I really feel like this is being told from 1 perspective. Pure trash. Would not trust. The interviews from the feds are pure ad hominem. Talking in terms of white separatists etc. Sure, I don't believe that, but if you look into this story, this documentary really really really really really fails at telling the real story.

    Government version

Randy Weaver was not a white supremacist. He identified as a separatist.

This is obviosly the government/left wing media version of events.

Like Waco, there never were any automatic weapons produced by government agents. This was a red herring.

Weaver had been coerced by an undercover agent to saw off 2 shotgun barrels.

And like Waco, no attempt was made to simply walk up to the front door even though other people had done so.

Lon Horiuchi the sniper/assassin fired first setting everything in motion.

All of this came out at trial. It's sad that Gerry Spence, Weavers attorney, is not listed in the credits.

Misinformation, fear and it's tragic aftermath.

I was rather surprised by this documentary from "The American Experience", as it seemed to say that the deaths at Ruby Ridge was caused by the government and that the Weaver family, though heavily armed, did not cause a risk to others. This is because there had been some misinformation that painted the Weavers as crazed White Supremacists...though according to the film, this was a mistaken assumption. What follows is the story as told by one of the grown Weaver children as well as government agents who also seemed to agree that their agencies precipitated this needless confrontation. Fascinating, sad and, hopefully, a screw-up that will serve as a tool about what NOT to do in the future. Well made and worth seeing, though the epilogue was a bit short and incomplete. Also, why wasn't Randy Weaver interviewed for the film? If they offered him a chance, why didn't they explain this?
