Wow - can't remember when was the last time i was watching a sci-fi show that got me so much involved into its amazing story. While "Intransigence", 9th episode of this amazing season 3 was its best, it did move story forward. With only 4 episodes left in this season, i can not wait to see them all. One can only admire the scope of the story this show has envisioned - its truly one of the best sci-fi stories in general I've ever saw.
Used to be 90% action and 10% talking, and all the new notions introduced were explained simply by integrating them in the movie.
Now is like 75% talking, 25% action, and most of the talking is basically religion and feelings and explaining new notions / concepts.
One year ago I would've rated it 8/10, today is 5/10 and I'm being generous.
Elizabeth Mitchell - I liked her in Lost. Her acting, her role, everything. Right now, in Expanse, she is just as annoying as Shohreh Aghdashloo, if not more. And the reason I brought this up is because most of that endless talking comes from her part.
You are losing it, guys, and the recent drop in the popularity sure tells you something is wrong. You are diluting each episode way too much and expand it's duration with forced conversations.
I'm not rooting for characters anymore. They talk too much, they stopped being interesting. Now are just annoying. Strait and Chatham still carry the show, but I wonder for how long...
1) Visually, Expanse scenes in space are extremely monotonous. Whether in a ship or showing space, the glaring palette with a small range of colors has really worn me down.
2) The acting. This is the biggest problem. The leads are absolute terrible. On the Roci, everyone except Amos is such an anti-talent that my teeth grind. Miller is good. Fred Johnson is good. That's it. The Prime Minister and his aide (the traitor) are both cartoonish. Avarasarala is passable.
3) Nothing happens which makes sense. Yes, there is action, but nothing seems rational to me. Everything is obviously written into the story to give the characters something to do. This is especially true of the crew of the Roci, who have no business being every important place in the solar system at exactly the right time.
I have read several of the books, so I can tell you that if you're waiting for something to happen which brings events to a logical stopping place, give up now. If you are enjoying the random, nonsensical plot lines, keep going.
As I said at the top, I want to like the series. The production values are great. I like the scale. The solar system has so much concrete interest to it. Unfortunately, we're not getting a real sense of the solar system, with the long distances, varying flight times, and the sheer impossibility of making some connections. So, good bye, Expanse.

- TriviaWhen Alex says, "I didn't think it would end this way," he is unconsciously echoing the Captain of the MCRN Donnager, who says the same thing right before scuttling the ship.
- Quotes
Camina Drummer: Oy yay! Beltalowda! Listen up! This is your captain. And this is your ship. This is your moment. You may think that you're scared, but you're not. That isn't fear. That's your sharpness. That's your power. We are Belters. Nothing in the Void is foreign to us. The place we go is the place we belong. This is no different. No one has more right to this! None more prepared! Inyalowda go through the Ring, call it their own! But a Belter opened it! We are the Belt! We are strong! We are sharp! And we don't feel fear! This moment belong to us! For Beltalowda!
