I think its wrong strategy to promote this movie only as a thriller, as because u don't have much thrill in it.
This movie is not for all, but for those who still bear 70's NAXALGIA in their heart, had a chance to live that decade, felt Basanter Bojronirghos, or like me, who just heard the story of a generation of dreamers, their failed revolution and have seen the boulevard of their broken dreams!
"Tomra ekhono ki.....?"

"Tomra ekhono ki.....?"
The first part of the movie is full of intellectual beings (read antels). Too many characters are there, many of them just to stretch the movie to a little over 2 hrs! The real story doesn't even begin before 1.5 hrs. At that the story should have finished in 30 mins tops.
It's very slow paced. The story never really builds up. They tried to show a lot of things but touched only the surface with incoherent incidents strewn over. The writer Asimav Bose is a rip-off of 'Amitav Ghosh' and his book 'The Calcutta Chromosome' is christened as 'The Calcutta Chemical'
The only thing I liked about this movie was the interiors of the writer's house!
Give it a miss if you are sick of slow paced antel movies.
A very much twisting subplot with wonderful cinematography and story telling that slowly peels the onion and makes way for the bulb. Meghnadbodh Kabyo has no such connection with the story (its a weapon) but the story of betrayal has been used as the USP. Certainly its a good watch and a delight to watch Sabyasachi Chakroborty, out of FeludA. There are so many good actors who do not get the privilege of their desired acting.
All that was a way of life for the Calcutta of the turbulent 70's, reincarnated in the modern day life with the "spoofiness" Anik Dutta is so characterized by, is all mixed in this delicious mix of mystery thriller. I guess, Anik gets carried away with his sense of pun to let you know and question the riddle. Extremely enjoyable for all us who grew up with in Calcutta to savor the various levels of meaning and flavor on a rain drenched day - specially with some banter fry.
If this was meant to be a thriller I must say I was not too thrilled. Well definitely better directed than most of what gets churned out from the Bengali movie industry, it failed to live up to my expectations. And if I add the general gleanings from the conversations while the crowd broke up after the screening, I would say it disappointed many. Because this was meant to be a thriller I will not spill the beans, but the script could have been much better. There are so many characters who were unnecessary and only added to the flab the script could have done without. The movie was just too long and felt long. The film did not have a proper closure. If the director planned to leave it to the audience to complete it for themselves, I must say that for me it was more of a failure than an intellectual twist. Talking of intellectual overtures, the film is overdone with them, so much that it starts to jar. The investigating cops, with the sidekick habitually mispronouncing English words, were too similar to a duo from another franchisee, and in my opinion was in bad taste. Acting ranged from rather good from Sabyasachi and Gargi to acceptable in Abir and many of the minor characters to wanting in others. Music by Debajyoti Mishra was mostly good. Meghnadbadh Rahashya is definitely worth a watch. But if you go in expecting something very good, I am afraid you might be disappointed.
