Sweet but with adult language
I really like the scenery, the music, the nostalgic sense, the family bonds. It is a sweet movie. But I don't think that the adult language is necessary......
Too many chick flic tropes
I grew up in the late 90s/ early 00s when I used to love these chic flics but we now live in a time of films with gritty realism. I realise that escapist romance still has it's place but it would be good if in 2020 it was a bit more grounded in the reality. It was just a chick flic trope every few minutes that just made it hard to relate to any of the characters.
I've given it a 5 because I think people that binge watch Hallmark romances might like it. For me I'll look for more modern romances because I found the way the lead was just another flighty female lead cringey/ borderline offensive. Also the man looked like he was just there to flirt with her, didn't have other things to deal with, another bad trope in romances.

Predictable
I understand that some associate Hollywood (or even more generally speaking America) with movies and scripts that are easy to digest to put it mildly. That being said, other countries have adapted that and are not always behind when it comes to that formula. This spanish language movie is a perfect example (don't be irritated by it being on Netflix as another reviewer obviously was and put it as American made).
Again since there are cliches being served and the movie moves along as expected, one can be forgiven comparing it to Hollywood made movies. So if that is the vibe you are looking for ... on the other hand, if it is something you are trying to avoid, maybe leave this alone. Still the acting is better than your standard romantic movie from America and miles if not worlds apart from those Hallmark movies (or TV movies of the week or whatever they are called). Not special but not really completely bad either

Lovely movie
To be honest, I don't understand this rate. :( I have seen a lot of movies. It was a lovely film without any filth and sex scenes. You just watch and let it fill with fun and get emotional and happy. Not a typical hollywood movie as someone's said. It is full with emotions and love and light humor. The role players were really sympathetic and they were good choice.
no place like home.
When bea catches her fiance cheating in a very public video, she has a blowup at her work. And she gets fired. So she goes back to the safety of her family. Which comes with many issues of its own. Some pretty rough language.. the adult siblings say things at the dinner table i would never say in front of my mother! It's mostly good. A little bit hallmark-channely. But there are some fun things in the script to keep it moving along. Can bea get her life back on track? You'll recognize maura carmen, who made all those fun movies with almodovar. Directed by patrcia font. Based on the novel by laura norton.
