The Colour Out of Space

This film is a slow-paced, gut-wrenching essay about death and, mostly, loneliness. Utilizing only sound and image (no colors nor dialogues), the short feature evokes a true sense of horror, letting the viewer be frightened by whatever it interpretates de story to be. Abel and the Visitor are both sides of a coin. The surreal and the real, but both struggle to face death: metaphorically and literally. The Visitor is, indeed, the death incarnate, while Abel is its victim, but also his most fierceful enemy. A masterfully done use of the narrative, with its beautiful photography and eerie soundtrack to its own advantage. A true masterpiece of horror cinema that should be seen by every fan of the genre.
