I absolutely love this animated show! I'm hooked... watched it several times and love to watch it again and again! I'm watching the regular episode (not animated) and loving that also!! I'm a New Englander Massachusetts and I am French/Canadian aka Canuck, so maybe that's why?!¿
I had reservations about revisiting one of my favourite casts of characters. Corner Gas-the original series-is one of the best series to come out of Canada and I was afraid that an animated attempt four years later would be nothing but a chase grab. I was afraid they would ruin it. Corner Gas Animated lives up to the standard of writing that we have come to expect from Butt and his team. It's a lot of fun and I am grateful to have them back! Janet Wright is missed, but Emma LeRoy is well-played by Wright's friend, Corrine Koslo, and it still feels like family.
(Review based on all episodes. of the first season.)
Fear not, Corner Gas fans... Corner Gas is back and it hasn't changed a bit... except for it's now a cartoon!
The new format gives Brent Butt an opportunity to experiment with some fantasy driven cutaways that would otherwise be impossible with a live action show. (A pink unicorn doing battle with a sasquatch?) These imaginative distractions add to the show's format rather than change it.
The characters and stories are just as you'd expect. If you were a fan before, you still will be. If you weren't then this probably won't turn you into one.
It's good to see (almost) all the old voices back. Long may she run.
The whole series has now played out and it's a big thumbs up!

This version of the show feels so much like the original show, it makes me nostalgic. It's just as well written, and there is some flexibility in animation. Just watch it and love it!
Although I didn't quite get on board with the first episode, by episode 3 it felt like the show hit its' stride and I had settled in with the new format.
The cast seems to be getting used to being voice actors and I really enjoy the taglines that are forming!
This is not the old show, but I mean that in a good way. The show ran its' course and was a lot of fun, and meant a lot to many of us. Then was the movie which was, as expected, no blockbuster but still fun!
I came into this expecting Bob's Burgers or Futurama. It is not that because it is clean, fun, and Canadian - and those are all the factors I have come to love about the animated series!
I hope it continues on for a long time because this show fills a void in TV, unlike so many other current shows that are just copies. The other void it fills is the one that has formed since the end of Corner Gas!
