Only Love Matters

I recently watched the movie "Only Love Matters," and despite not being someone who writes movie reviews frequently, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. Directed by Kamran Qureshi, the film does an exceptional job in multiple aspects, making it an experience that is both visually captivating and emotionally impactful.

First and foremost, the picturization of this film on beautiful locations is nothing short of stunning. The brilliant camera work captures the essence of these settings, immersing the audience in a world of natural beauty. Expect a roller coaster of emotion! The first British film to examine the little known subject of intersex people and the prejudices they face in society. Decisions are made at birth as to weather they shall live as male or female, which can involve irreversible surgery. However, the film celebrates the two main intersex characters resilience and eventual acceptance by people who truly love them for who they are.

The cinematography, especially the scenes in India, are visually stunning. The actors handle their roles with empathy, pathos and the right amount of vulnerability. There are twists and turns that make it a very emotional watch but I cannot recommended it enough.

The story circles around two women (an intersex mother and a daughter). It gives you entertainment, laugh and importantly a message and information we never came across regarding intersex bodies and their issues in an awesome way. A movie that can be watched among all group ages of family member. I watched the film in BFI Southbank cinema London. This movie delivers a brilliant informative message for society regarding the due respect and honour for intersex bodies. We all must exercise it and let them enjoy the life as God has bestowed upon them with their own built up and emotions.

Only Love Matters, was truly inspiring, following the story of an intersex individual has never really been seen before, but highlights an incredibly overlooked scenario, building awareness on the matter. The narrative is very well structured and shows several stages of the protagonist's life, bad and good. Accompanied by beautiful cinematography and original songs, this film is truly a good watch.

The film does extremely well at character development, from the early stages of childhood, all the way until late adulthood, marriage, and adoption. By the end, you feel a genuine connection with the subjects, which is very heart-warming.

I do very much recommend this film to anyone, this film follows a story and issue which is rarely discussed but equally shows importance of how awareness can change our perceptions.

I got to view Only Love Matters at it's premier in Southampton, part of Southampton Film Week. This film has taught me so much about intersex as I was not aware of this term before. The film has amazing cinematography. It's also very emotional pice to view and has characters people will be able to relate to. The pace of the film is really good , it keeps the story line moving forwards but at a pace which really gives the emotion, this is credit to the director and editor.

This film is going to inspire others to research and learn more about intersex and is going to help raise awareness.

Really am excited to see the film again.
