    Unbiased review "Ellipsis" film...

If you love "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" set on one night, then this movie' for you! Watch it, fulfill it, Love It!

    Delightful

I stumbled upon this movie with a bit of time to kill, I'd never heard of it and was not expecting much. I was hooked within the first couple of minutes and could literally not take my eyes off it. The two stars are so natural, you almost feel like you're intruding on their conversations. It's a gentle movie, a conversational movie with some nice moments of humour. I loved it and to play their game. How many times have I seen this movie? - 1 How many great acting performances were in this movie? - 2 What mark out of 10 would you give this movie? - 27

    Almost mesmerising!

I really had no idea what to expect when I started watching this movie. But I must say, I enjoyed it very much. The 2 main people seemed perfect for each other and I am sure each had the most memorable night for a long time if not their life. Neither would have thought bumping into each other in the street would have led to such an eventful day/night. The phone repairer, short glimpse of his life, also food for thought... I am a Melburnian and remember the few ventures into Sydney, brought back some memories. The writer, director has done an excellent job of this movie. To keep and hold my attention without the usual action as in most movies... It reminded me of movies like "Before Sunrise", "Before Sunset" with Ethan Hawke... I think most people who will watch this will like it. I could have probably given it a ten, but as a teacher once told me, when I was used to score perfect 100s in most subjects, he only gave me 99 for Arabic calligraphy, with the explanation of "Who is to say that your handwriting is so perfect that it can't be surpassed?"

    Not my cup of tea

Based on the existing reviews, I thought this would be a movie I'd enjoy. Unfortunately, I felt like it was a wasted couple of hours. The acting by the lead male was great, he was a likable and believable character, well executed. The style of filming was good. However, the plot left me wonder - what was the point? It essentially is a stream of pointless events, two people wandering around the city for a whole movie. Like the lengthy scene where multiple types of vibrators are discussed while the lead female character goggles awkwardly. Why? So much of this movie adds nothing, and it lacked any kind of depth. Way too much of the dialogue was pointless interactions with others. The end resolution was not so much of a resolution. It's more of a documentary of two people and their random occurrences on a night out on the town. I wish more time was spent on the secondary plot, as this felt underdeveloped, but added a lot to the depth of the movie.

    Would not watch again.

Another in a string of like movies

Ellipsis joins the list of movies where boy meets girl and they spend the next 24 hours exploring the metropolitan city around them and discovering each others inner core.

With 'Before Sunrise', 'Before Sunset', 'Before We Go', 'Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong' preceding this movie "Ellipsis" joins a family of movies with similar plot lines. But what makes Ellipsis memorable is the script and the charm of the two main characters.

Well worth watching - give it a look!

ELLIPSIS was filmed during eleven days in November 2015, starting after the end of the "Sculpture Of The Sea" outdoor exhibition, located beside the ocean from Bondi Beach to Tamarama Beach, which ran from 22nd October 2015 until 8th November 2015. The shooting locations around the QVB Building and at Martin Place, were filmed prior to construction starting for the new Sydney Light Rail that removed most vehicles, along several kilometres of George Street Sydney, from Circular Quay to Central Railway.
