I'm writing this review to give this show the credit it so DESERVES! (And also to balance out the negativity.) The writing is superb and is some of the best for a comedy that I've seen. All through season 1, I was semi- invested and thought the show was cute, until, of course, the finale which made me flip out! Season 2 continues that trend, as it heads in a direction that no one would expect, and take the viewer to some places that they hoped for, and a whole lot of places that they didn't. The character development in this season is well thought out and each character grows exponentially, to the point where I often say..."oh my goodness. Look what a person they've become." As for this episode, it is one of the strongest of all of them. Plots are further developed, and a big (not huge) twist is out into play, which wonderfully sets up an arc for its third season. I truly love this show (and this episode) and believe it will get its recognition in due time.
Perhaps a TV attempt at a satire like "Joe vs. the Volcano" which I had to watch a couple of times until I finally enjoyed it. I hoped that this series would improve with time but it hasn't. Even perky Kristen Bell can't save it. It started out like an old "Twilight Zone" episode. The one where Sebastian Cabot is "Pip" the devil's assistant and the thief thinks he is in Heaven. (Of course it's really Hell.) They changed the format and focus and we are halfway through Season 2. Maybe "Somewhere Else" is the last episode? It is for me.
It felt so good to finally see a change of pace, a change of writing, finally an episode that does not rely on the same joke all over again.
Don't get me wrong it was always fine, Season 2 was mostly okay. But now that is the opportunity to do something very good. It felt good not to see Tahani and joke about her high standard , felt good not to see Jason and his stupidness, and good not to see chidi the nerd, I like them, but not all the time in every minute of every episodes. Here it was about Eleonor, the main character, finally !
More time to focus on one character, instead of having all 6 main characters like always. I'm looking forward to season 3 and to see Tahani, Jason and chidi dealing with their new life, this test.

Best ep of the whole series. Fantastic way to bring it full cicle. Funny, charming and not incredibly annoying. Loved it

- Quotes
Chidi Anagonye: The difference between the term "reasonable", what does it mean to be a reasonable person? I may have a different definition of reasonable... so why do it, then? Why choose to be good every day if there is no guaranteed reward we can count on, now or in the afterlife? I argue that we choose to be good because of our bonds with other people and our innate desire to treat them with dignity.
