For all the BLIND FANS!
At this point, if someone is still watching "Better Call Saul" expecting explosions every five minutes, they've completely missed the point of the show. The problem with these so-called "fans" is that they confuse tension with action. They don't see that "BCS" builds tension meticulously, tightening the noose little by little until everything inevitably detonates.
The irony? Even "Breaking Bad" had episodes these same "fans" dismissed as "filler" (Fly, Green Light, Kafkaesque, Open House). And now they suddenly want a machine gun in every scene? Not even Breaking Bad had that kind of pace. This is not a Michael Bay movie! If they need the plot to scream in their faces nonstop just to hold their attention, then BCS was never for them.
They can't even recognize the climax when it hits them: a brutal Salamanca bloodbath in one episode, the first true glimpse of a Machiavellian Saul in Piñata. And in this episode-Huell's arrest, the looming threat of what Jimmy will do to save him, and the brilliant cliffhanger with Kim, who literally rolls onto the scene armed with a carload of colorful stationery and pens, ready to save the day with an unexpected plan. This is narrative gold. But because there's no machine gun stashed in a car trunk, apparently, "nothing happens." These people don't need a series, they need a video game.

Another excellent episode
Not going to go into too much detail but I thought the cold open montage was excellent (one of the best of the series so far) and set the tone for the episode perfectly. On another note, I'm getting really sick of seeing the same 1/10 reviews saying 'boring' episode after episode. I'll be the first to admit that the pacing of the show has been a bit too slow at times but things are definitely picking up now and if you can't see that then you're probably not trying hard enough to engage with the show (sorry). I know a lot of people expected this to be like Breaking Bad but if you're still seeking that kind of action I'm afraid you simply won't find it here.
Red-haired girl in the beginning
Great episode as always. Now, okay, I'll prolly get downvoted but does anyone know who's the red-haired girl walking with Kim as some other person in the beginning of this episode?
Time skip done right!
This is the first major time skip in the show and it is handled very well throught that great montage as it never feels out of place or that you are missing something! Instead It is putting us closer to events that would have taken a long time to reach!
Huell standing trying to defend Jimmy was pure comedy! I laugh everytime! It happens so fast and I love it!
Another highlight is Gus taking control over Hectors future! We learn that he might have been able to speak and walk again.. had Gus not interfered!

Kim's cast; right arm/left arm is NOT a 'goof'.
It is unfathomable that the creative team behind this show would make such a 'goof'... from the showrunners all the way down, especially to the actress herself, for this to actually be a 'goof;, they would ALL have to had to miss this in-your-face mistake, a virtual impossibility.
Remember, the episode starts off in split-screen, with Kim and Jimmy facing mirrors. The cast flipping from arm to arm is a subtle play off this, which serves to illustrate the duality of Kim's character, the good-and-bad fighting for control, as was displayed by her actions later on in the episode.

Did you know
- TriviaThe time of the episode is established: January 2004. That places it 4 years before the beginning of Breaking Bad (2008).
- GoofsThe digging crew are using a skid steer for some reason. Since the idea is to be secretive this makes no sense as:
1. There would be no way to vent the carbon monoxide fumes out of the digging area without using noisy fans 2. They don't use a spotter to prevent the type of accident that occurred from happening. Experienced sandhogs (tunnelers) would know this. 3. The initial digging seems to have been over with, meaning that there was nothing to the skid steer to do in the hole.
