Previous episode was emotional and sad, and this one was Creepy as Hell.
Some people say there was too much mess, and I agree for that, but still...that was a mess with a style, Creepy, tense and very terryfying mess. This episode touches my deepiest and the most primitive fears. Acting was great, as always on the past 8 episodes. It's Well written and absolutely wonderfully directed. And soundediting...what can I say? It's very Disturbing and Twisted, it really got me s#itting in my pants. There's one word to describe this episode: WOW!
Bill Skarsgård is the very definition of creepy, right down to the way he walks and carries himself. This episode is definitely setting up for something big.
The part that made no sense was when Ruth, who has advanced Alzheimer's, had just murdered Alan, but instead of the police arresting Ruth, they just go. Then Henry and his son also decide to leave and Ruth is alone in the house for hours. Yeah, that's a great idea.

Many critics didn't like this episode because it revisited a once-opened sub-plot. I agree that it's a bit too late to get back to a sub-plot while the show becomes nearer to its end. But I found that this sub-plot has something to do with the main plot. Actually, it's merged very well with the story, and it seems that it even adds to the story. So what's the wrong with that?! Also, it's darn entertaining!
I loved how creepy the atmosphere of Past Perfect is. Nevertheless, it assures that Castle Rock suffers a great deal of inconsistency in tone, and style.
What really got my attention is how much this show is related to The Shining. In fact, it doesn't only take place in the same universe of The Shining, It expands on this universe using The Shining's rules. Maybe in a messy way, but it still a decent one.

After such a mind bending episode 7 about past memories and the dark things happening now, episode 8 picks up great from where episode 6 ended out, with the most bloody and deadly episode to date, with Henry also nearly dying, but getting saved last minute. Its just a really gritty episode with extremely dark elements and I quite like it, at least a little more than I did with episode 7.
Bill Skarsgaard´s character is also finally beginning to talk a little more, giving him some more debt as well, which also gives many more questions which needs answering, that who is he and is he so mysterious? Is it by nature? Is it something else?
Cant wait to find out!!!

- TriviaThe Kid, played by Bill Skarsgård, says "I waited for you. I waited for 27 years." to Henry Deaver. The actor says something similar ("For 27 years I've waited for you,") as Pennywise in It: Chapter Two (2019), another Stephen King work.
- GoofsThe VW bus that Gordon and Lola are driving bears stickers in the front window indicating the owner was a Master Chief Petty Officer (E9) in the U.S.Navy, stationed at Naval Station Newport, R.I. It can be assumed that they purchased it from him or her. The Navy no longer uses these stickers. They should have been scraped off when the Master Chief sold the vehicle.
