Honey trap
This is incredibly idiotic from its inception, delivery and execution. The acting is poor and none of the cast were good enough to make this film any thing more than being watchable.
Could have been good
Even though this movie is far from being the first of its kind, there's potential at the beginning for something a bit original.
Sadly, it soon turns out the story needed much more work. The ending is ridiculous.
Don't get fooled by the 10/10 reviews, they're all coming from new subscribers who are obviously here on a mission. Some of their nicknames are even related to the movie in a way or another, like johnjcarroll-61039 or bcarroll-37501 (Phillip G. Carroll Jr. directed the movie). Couldn't be more obvious...
Released the same year, Vivarium is in my opinion a much better attempt.

maybe, experiment
An embroidery of genres and twists, having desire to be , in same measure , Sci Fi, thriller, horror, psychological. And becoming only a sort of experiment about an experiment , with indulgence. A couple looking for money, a room, game of apparences and few dramatic touches. Hologrames, tests, surviving cameras, discover the other as stranger and a lot of white. The architecture as only good reason to see.
Horrible on so many levels
This movie is so offensively bad that I had to write a review in hope of saving someone's precious time. The only reason why I gave it a score of 2 instead of 1 is because the film crew bravely showed up on the set even with a script like this.
First of all, the script is dreadful. Human beings don't act like human beings, character motivations are unclear at best, and one of the two main characters is pretentiously A WRITER. Even if you consider only the latter, it's enough to destroy this flimsy storyline.
I won't tell you about the plot, not because I don't want to give you spoilers (an unknown entity that never interacted with humans would be able to see through it in seconds) but because it's not worth explaining. If you want a similar premise but much better execution, go watch "The One I Love" (2014).
The acting is terrible, I hated both of the characters throughout but, I guess, you can't do much with this script, really.
Overall, if you enjoy similar movies, watch "The Invitation" (2015) or "Coherence" (2013). Or even just stare at the wall and your imagination will come up with something better.

Interesting concept that falls apart in the end.
3 out of 5 stars.
The Honeymoon Phase is a fair science fiction thriller film. About a newly wed couple going into an experiment trial. As the company observes how the couple are reacting towards each other for a month. They are given a house. Food. Furniture and supplies. Until the wife starts questioning if her husband is lying to her.
Interesting concept and plot. Could have been so much more. The script does fall apart by the time it reaches its third act. The writer feels like they ran out of ideas on where to go. When the twist is revealed which is surprising. But it falls so quick that it ruined the whole movie. Especially the ending.
The cast did decent with there performances. The direction was okay. The script and ending kind of wasted a good idea to having an uninspired shocking ending.
