The production quality is truly incredible, definitely at the level of a Hollywood hit if not better. The set fully enveloped the atmosphere of the game, each piece had detail and depth. The actors were perfect, the lead actor for the Inspector had an amazing performance, probably the best I've seen in a long time in how he represented his sternness, his emotion, the way he thought throw allowing the last passport, everything. I think the way he grabbed his head at 8:39 was a bit unnatural, but that was a mere 1 second. His performance after Elisa chocked me up. The clothing was so well done, looked just scruffy enough, had the soviet Russian vibe, everything. A true piece of art.
This is simply the most accurately portrayed video game movie I have ever seen. I feel that this movie captures the feel of the game and touches on the subjects in the game better than any other. Although short, this film is an interesting watch whether you've played the game or not. I highly recommend giving it a watch. It's both short and free, so why not?
Well, this is another very short one i have to write a paragraph on, however this adaptation adapts the game extremely well, Papers, Please, is one of my favorite games ever, and this film is one of my favorite films of all time, it's truly a great experience, it's just as dark and gloomy as the real game, although if you have never played the game, I cant see myself recommending this to you, as the game, or a basic understanding of the game, is quite necessary to enjoy this film, although it's still a great incredible movie, if you know the game, please watch it! You really won't be disappointed!
Strong at the beginning, strong in the middle, weak at the end.
Marvellous insiders with known persons from the game and heartbreaking scenes but it was very rushed at the end. There was room for a few more minutes.
But this takes nothing away and it was just a great experience and a great film!
Excellent writing, set design, and art direction, managed to capture the style of Papers, Please while still being realistic, the acting was great, and I thought the lack of music in the more emotional/tense scenes worked really well and felt very human and captivating. I really liked the music although it doesn't fit that well with the setting it goes for, editing was good but could've been better towards the end, and it used quite a bit of CGI, which put me off but at the same time it still kind of works and is forgivable for the most part.
