- Roger Ebert: ...Who are stoned out of their minds and having these meaningless conversations: "Who is God?" "Does God exist?" "Is there an afterlife?" Let me try something on you here. I've never snorted cocaine, so I can't know this for sure, but I'll bet that if you began by being wasted, snorted cocaine, drank, and passed out, and were awakened by a phone call and went to a party and spent the next three hours snorting unlimited amounts of more cocaine and drinking tequila out of a bottle, you would not be able to TALK.
- Richard Roeper: Yeah, and yet they're able to articulate these Philosophy 101 arguments.
- Roger Ebert: [reviewing 'the Pink Panther'] ... and I don't think Steve Martin was the right choice for the Peter Sellers role, if it could have been anyone... maybe Mike Myers.
- Richard Roeper: You're right about that. Steve Martin maybe 25 years ago... but now he's too sophisticated and experienced and... what's the point is what you're saying. What is the point Roger? Have all the Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers, have they all been wiped off the face of the earth? No, they're available out there. To me, it's like a bunch of talented people want to get together and cover a bunch of Beatles songs. Well, why? We have the original classics.
