The Doctor Blake Mysteries: Family Portrait

WHEN - when will this come to an internet site that I can watch it on - or download it? This is a FABULOUS series - just the right mix of intrigue, drama, romance, and YES--CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! These characters grow--change. This series has a set of WRITERS who genuinely know how to write and directors who know how to DIRECT. Everyone who works on this series knows what they are doing and how to product a genuinely good series. This is definitely worth watching! I want the Family Portrait to come to a site that I can watch it on, however. The YouTube video skips around and doesn't do this particular last show any justice at all. I also can't wait until I get to the point where a US station will pick it up so that I can watch the next season - which, thankfully, a station out of Australia picked up.

I am so sad that I am unable to see this surprise "ending" to the Dr Blake Mysteries series. I Loved the series and I'm astonished that even although Craig McLachlan was found to be not guilty of the charges brought to him, back in 2017, he was treated so poorly by the powers that be, and the series cut short. Such a waste of talent, and a brilliant show.

Having watched the whole series I now miss not only Dr Blake, but all the other characters in the production.

It would be great if it could be reinstated with the original cast. Having watched religiously, one a night, till now, missing the wedding is a bit harsh.

We watched the first four seasons on Netflix, and became hooked on what is a really great series -- so much so, that we purchased a region-free DVD player and ordered the Season 5 and 'Family Portrait' TV movie DVD's from Australia.

Why the Australian network cancelled this series is beyond us. From the reviews, and the ratings, it is clear that this is an immensely popular show. Someone in network Programming is asleep at the wheel in this case. But, we've seen this before, from the original 'Star Trek', to 'Last Man Standing', 'Timeless', and a host of other great shows that were cancelled way before their time. (Maybe Netflix could order up new episodes of Doctor Blake, who knows?)

I loved the original series and was sorry it was only five seasons long. Fantastic ending to a great series. I Purchased this TV movie from Amazon, as it is not included in the last series.

This has been such a great television series, so it was no wonder that the TV movie was such a joy to watch. With more than a couple of surprises along the way. Its beautifully shot and well written as usual, with a fantastic cast of old and new faces. Its always great to see Craig and Nadine in their role's, and along with Joel Tobeck who is fantastic. I would have loved to have seen more of Peggy and Brian too. Looking forward to more of this in the future. Well done to a great team.
