A visual and musical brilliant tribute to Mr. Nicolas Roeg

You cinema folks haven't heard a song exactly like this: a spectacular film tribute that capsulated part of the filmography of a distinctive film director AND with a clip that goes the exact same way. A hit from Big Audio Dynamite that is also an homage to the great Nicolas Roeg "E=MC2" doesn't necessarily makes a judgment about his masterpieces like "Performance" or "The Man Who Fell to Earth"; it simply tells the effect his images caused on the band and viewers around the world and creates a whole different meaning to them...it's something out of this world that needs to be seen: clip, Roeg's movies and the song, obviously. Words to describe will be hard to find but we'll give it a shot when it comes to this special clip and its honor of Roeg's works.

Jones, Don Letts and company deliver a powerfully charged act inside this power plant scenery (nice slow motion sequences) intersected with memorable moments taken from Nicolas Roeg's films - so there's the presence of greats like Donald Sutherland, David Bowie and Theresa Russell, just to name a few. It's a colorful and delirium spectacle to the senses, a warming visual experience hard to forget and an unforgettable sonorous delight to our ears despite being a repetitive music which may annoy some listeners who prefer to hear variations in music - but it's extremely catchy though and their most successful tune of all.

For the record, it hasn't been beaten neither copied with style, impact and quality. "E=MC2" is THAT good. As for the visual, the conjunction with Roeg unusual images and sounds from his classic films (the audio dialogues from "Performance" which are used in the song as well; the exploding room in "Insignificance" or the haunting dwarf from "Don't Look Now" are just examples) plus the hard beat of BAD makes an ultimate experience that is both mysterious, difficult and fascinating. How many clips you can name that carry such a weight and it's also a cinematic shock to the senses? A must-see for cinema lovers...and music enthusiasts as well. 10/10.
