I've already posted a review on the original stop motion animated Pingu and much of what I've said there remains true for Pingu In City
Despite being computer animated they've stayed true to the core of what made Pingu great and while original Pingu was made in Europe, with City being made in Japan you really see that Japanese influence
First off just like the original, City is enjoyable for both adults and babies and toddlers so we are talking between 1 years old and 4 years old
There is a lot of educational value in Pingu City. While the original was more focused on primary educational values. Social skills, eating healthy, cleaning up etc
Pingu in City is more focused on introducing the concept of jobs and social responsibility. It is all very Japanese in terms of their societal values
It basically treats all jobs as being equally important and equally interesting and my child really loved seeing Pingu learn and help on these different jobs
Just like the original the design of Pingu City means it doesn't become annoying for adults in the same room. No repetitive sounds no annoying sounds or voices and we actually found ourselves watching it too as it is fun enough for adults to enjoy too and there are stuff in there for adults to enjoy too in terms of story and messages.
