I do not even recall what happened the episode before and the episode before that 1.6 and 1.7 were just boring, on the other hand, thread of eXtinction 1.8 was just great storytelling that you rarely see on a superhero t.v. show..
The plot gives enough screen time and plot points to all the characters, even when it focuses on the Strucker family altho this time it is great and not just complaining and running. The beginning, middle and ending are pretty clear, it is a really fine and on point great storytelling. There is one epic moment in this episode and a great reveal of a bigger episode to come, it is also somewhat emotional and most of character decisions make sense.
I hope this is just the start of a string of well done scripts and not just a lucky one.

If The Gifted hones in more on the family aspects and less on Greater Conspiracies, Fox could have a fun X-Men lite ride on its hands. Just don't expect the same level of complexity as FX's Legion. The Gifted" offers impressive special effects, topical conflicts and poignant acting as it.
I wish this episode had come sooner. We were finally given some interesting background on Reed from his father.Sadly the meeting is brief which is a shame because this could have been an interesting b-story as opposed to the male Dazzler going to work for the cartel in exchange for them helping get U-Go-Girl..I mean Polaris out.The opening wasn't too bad but it foreshadowed the creepy feeling I got from the last shot of Lauren and Andy holding hands and judging by the preview for the next episode the do it again which i repeat is creepy because the way Lauren always has to calm Andy down and guide him to use his powers I swear these two are a couple of petals short of a full on bloom of Flowers In The Attic unless they can separate them and put them with other characters which they tried to do with Lauren when they paired her with Imax boy.Thankfully they got rid of him but still again it was creepy the way Andy always showed up when they were alone together.Other than that this was a good episode.Should have happened sooner in the season though.
Just a heads up if you were curious the 3 knives Polaris threw around are the Osbourne designed Barrage made by Benchmade. I was stoked to see them because it's my EDC.
