They handled the issue way better and way more realistically than in "Moo Moo". But the plot itself wasn't very interesting.
This episode has an important meaning, acceptance. Although it was a more serious episode it was a important episode to understand the difficulties between a gay/bisexual child and telling the parents, as well as what the child wants. And judging by other reviews about the episode it is a needed episode.
This is one of the best episodes of the season and top 10 for the series. We all know Brooklyn 99 is very slapstick, but every once in a while the writers present us with a story that really touches the viewer (ex. The Terry racism episode). The Rosa character has shown the most impressive growth on this show. Here she is coming out to her parents as bi, she brings Jake along for support (aw Jake what a friend), then she chickens out and makes Jake her "boyfriend". But then she comes clean. And you can see in her eyes she's not happy with her parents' reaction. There's redness. Tough Rosa has feelings folks. She has tears in her eyes. Not since Fonzie have we seen a real tough TV character become emotional. And what an ending. All her 99 friends got her back and give her a Game Night. Congratulations to the writers for giving us a flawlessly written episode perfectly actors by Stephanie Beatriz.
This Holt's quote says everything. Maybe some people do not want this show to be so "serious" or "real" but I think its very nice. And whats wrong with being a bisexual? It's who they are.
It was really heartwarming where the squad gathered and showed support for Diaz in the last scene.
99 rules!
That the highest mark I'm giving on Brooklyn 9-9 episode ever. It was very realistic, relatable and lovely as it could be. I loved plot, I liked it how they painted it with humour but so serious. Perfect episode.
