I Love You, America was slated to be a series with Sarah Silverman meeting & talking with people that don't agree with her. Basically the far right as Sarah is extremely far left. There are only a few episodes where Sarah talks to un-like-minded people, the first 2 and then episode 17. Out of all of the pandering, condescending, abasing & hypocricy, the one with Bill Burr is the one worth watching. If you've been lead to believe as I was that there would be genuine conversations with conservative individuals please inform HULU for a refund. We were lied to.
Far left Sarah has thoughtful intelligent conversations with far right without being condescending. Very funny at times, very serious at times. Not your usual Sarah Silverman stuff. Check out at least one episode.
This show is really great. I didn't know how I felt about Sarah when I started watching it. She's never been my favorite stand up. I wasn't sure I jived with her style. But this show was so heartfelt and refreshing. It really brought a lot of validation and contentment to my soul. I enjoyed the variety and the honesty. I loved the segments with her dad. I thought she truly made an effort to reach across the aisle in the nicest, most respectful way possible while also acknowledging her own biases. This is the show America needs right now. It makes me sad to know that some people are so quick to shut it out. There really is no such thing as impartiality, but Sarah genuinely made an effort to unite us. Can anyone on the right say the same?
i would really love to say i wasted a half hour of my life watching this...."show". but instead i only wasted about maybe.... 23 minutes. it was the first episode, i went in with open eyes and mind. the only thing i learned is..... nothing. yeah i know it was not meant to be informative. but what i did observe is either your a sjw or your the butt of a joke.i cant even remember why Sarah is famous or why she is relevant, her brother starred in some good movies way back when. other than that...... i love America.... its not funny, maybe its not supposed to be. it was not engaging, maybe its not supposed to be. was it good? absolutely not. is there wiggle room for improvement? yes. could it blossom into a "good" show? maybe, but not likely. i will give it one more shot....

Terrific pilot episode everyone else seems to be expecting something run-of-the-mill and spoon fed where Sarah Silverman has always been one of the most unorthodox comedians with some of the most unorthodox TV show formulas if you could call them formulas . I found the Intro musical to be slow and annoying for the first 20 seconds but then funnier as the skit plays out and you begin to realize what she's actually trying to speak to. I thought the interview was great and I thought her visiting the family was great and also I even like the fake show host because it's pretty clear that there's a degree of truth to the things she says about late-night hosts.
