I enjoyed Bad Ben which is strange as I hate found footage, this was probably due to having stationary cameras in the house, the first two have there share of scares and suspense. This the final one is a mild comedy which to be fair has some funny dialogue and slapstick comedy at the end. The film is a send up of found footage horror but the problem is does it work, sadly not really. I am not sure why he decided to go on this route as a final horror to bring the threads together I believe would have worked, the acting in this one is not great, hats off to the bloke he has made three movies for the cost of the buffet on some truly awful movies I have endured.
Not as good as the first but way better than second. These movies are growing on me.
Tom carried this movie just like you did the first one. This one was more of a slapstick comedy and for a low budget film wasn't bad. The acting is why I gave it three stars.
I am pretty generous with my reviews. I really liked the first one except I wanted more of an explanation of 'Bad Ben' and the ending and, with the second two, I got one. However, this is DEFINITELY a horror- comedy. DO NOT go in with the expectation of being scared out of your wits. I found myself genuinely laughing at parts. It was very entertaining. For example, Tom's cussing at the beginning of the documentary. Jacquie: "Tell me what happened here" Tom: "I lost my f*ing money." And when the cameraman was tearfully giving his possible last testimonial "I don't know why everyone calls me Schmiddy, my name is Tristan Carmichael! I'm so sorry I was a Paranormal Investigator- what a stupid job!" Also, you do not know what to predict for an ending so you do get drawn in. No one is particularly likable, so by horror standards, do they all die?
You'd THINK with a bigger cast than the original "Bad Ben" (which only had a cast of one) that this would be a better movie, wouldn't you? NOPE! The acting in this film is HORRIBLE! (the female investigator is by FAR the worst) When I saw the "special effects" I KNEW I was in for a big bad ride. There's nothing in the film that is really all that scary. It's more FUNNY than anything. All the creepiness of the original is LONG GONE. I have seen WORSE "found footage" movies, but this one is pretty bad. I'm giving it a GENEROUS 3 stars......just because I'm in a good mood.
