The Mistress and the Worm

Just discovered this show in 2024 and I love the fantasy genre more than any other so despite my trepidation of watching a CW show I gave it a try. I nearly gave up after half of the first episode which was so bad. I struggled through and it got a bit better so I tried another. It is slowly coming around but after three episodes I'm still trying to figure out if I like it or not. It's low budget and Jessica Green is either not a good actress or they are not giving her any good things to say. She's just kind of running around alternately pissed off or she's saying sorry and thank you to someone when she's done being pissed off. The rest of the cast are CW style actors as well and doing their best but it's a low bar on CW. Some other reviewer (or cast member/employee?) giving this a 10 and comparing it to Game of Thrones is beyond ridiculous. But there must be some appeal to this show because I'm still watching. Perhaps like Xena Warrior Princess it's sort of so bad that it's good, or at least it's kind of fun in a cheap and sound stagey way. I'm interested to see if it continues to slowly improve or if it goes full train wreck. The Outpost lasted four seasons so it must have had it's fans.

This is the best show ever, it just keeps getting better by each episode, dont give up if you like fantasy, medieval times etc. Honestly this and Game of Thrones are the only shows I really loved, this is not as high budget, but I love this show so much.

Script needs some serious work. There are so many good fantasy books out there and they make shows like this. It does not make any sense.
