Although this is the final episode of the series, it was meant to air much earlier in the season as the 10th episode, before the show was retooled from a paranormal comedy to an office comedy. Fox canceled its original broadcast mere days before it was supposed to air in January 2018, as the mid-season finale. It was then released on Amazon by mistake. As Fox wanted to start the second half of the season with a clean slate, it was shelved until there were no other new episodes left to air. This episode features Ava Lafrey (Ally Walker) in charge of the Bureau Underground, with no mention of her replacement Merv Minette (Kevin Dunn), and the focus is back on the paranormal and the storylines left unresolved when the show came back after mid-season; though they never get resolved here, either.
