    Wasted Opportunity

Even for an alien movie, the film had the need to have a hero song, hero falling in love on first sight (ofcourse with a fair skinned girl), hero saves a stranded animal and then a kid kisses him. Nothing out of the template. This is Tamil industry's opportunity to deliver a good alien movie. With such a comical cast, there weren't that many jokes to laugh. Maybe a few chuckles here and there but that's it. For me, the biggest disappointment is the music. Both songs and the background score were not even mediocre but bad. Any other upcoming music director could have done a better job. Rahman was such a let down. The movie had every Cliche'd scene you would expect. I wouldn't even call it a kids' movie because there was nothing new that the kids might enjoy. Overall a huge let down and a wasted opportunity.

    A scintillating Scifi work

This movie is all scifi, a perfect scifi action movie from ravi kumar. His work from indru netru naalai has been perfect as this. Kudos to the VFX team. I can see the work put through each scene for CGI is remarkable. The work and efforts and the cgi and graphics were hollywood standards. Almost every scene is a CGI. Special kudos. But the story and screenplay could have been better not bad though. SK did his best to his role and all others collaborated very well. To be honest the songs were reducing the pace of the movie and the songs too not catchy. This will be ARR s bad album according to me. Bgm is ok. Overall a good movie. Kudos to ravikumar for bringing in a world class movie with all techs in. Please do watch it available in sun Next.

The VFX is pretty good for a Tamil film. That's about it. [+44%]

Everyone's talking about ET and Koi Mil Gaya as obvious sources of inspiration, but my best guess is .. writer-director R Ravi Kumar watched Greg Mottola's Paul (2011) at some point and thought Tamizhify-ing it would be a good idea. Considering the film has been in production hell for years, I'm glad at least the visual effects do not disappoint. PhantomFX does a pretty solid job, and it's indeed their hard work that sustains the film's watchability factor. I'll also give part of that credit to Siddharth, who voices Tattoo the cute alien.

But I wish the writing ingenuity that I witnessed in Ravi Kumar's Indru Netru Naalai was present here too. The screenplay is inconsolably generic, and even kids would find the plot developments overstuffed and the feeble attempts at humor quite lackluster. Sivakarthikeyan does alright in a role that only tries to milk the middle-class guy-next-door perception he has, while the usually funny sidekicks (Yogi Babu, Karunakaran) are not as fun this time around. The antagonists are one-note too, and a returning (femme fatale) Isha Koppikar is way more interesting than Sharad Kelkar here. Oh, Rakul Preet Singh is in there somewhere too, I almost forgot! Also, this is probably the most forgettable soundtrack that ARR has composed in recent memory.

VFX was a step above Shankar's 2.0 but....

I don't know why but whenever a good director join hands with a big actor he somehow looses track on his project.

Ravikumar's previous project Indru Netru Naalai is one of the best Sci-Fi time travel film in Tamil Cinema. The film had so much content and an engaging plot.

Ayalaan, extraordinary VFX. Congratulations to the whole team because they've brought Kollywood to the next level in terms of VFX only not the film.

First half was good but due to lack of content second half was poorly executed.

Music was okay, cinematography was good.

Dear directors , if you don't have any ideas to sneak in second half , please just decrease the film's duration. We as audience are not dumb to watch Sivakarthikeyan fight a robot for 10 minutes and using a balloon to fly to another building.

Film had potential but basic storyline made it ended as an average one time watchable film

    6/10 , strictly for kids.

Kids friendly movie and great effects

I felt ashamed taking my kids to other recent 2023 movies...Full of violence or something uncomfortable and ear tearing music all through the film... But I felt very much comfortable taking my kids to this movie... They really enjoyed the movie including myself... Good ARR BGM felt like bliss instead of irritation... ARR really knows where to give pause in the BGM and where to give slow BGM... First half was really entertaining and enjoyable and it was very fast.... 2nd half was decent.. But somehow we missed the Alien little bit... Some minor disconnect... But still a great effort in making this film... We can literally see in the movie... I am a great fan of Indru Netru Nallai... Even watched that again... It had the curiosity of how the climax will end... Twist and turns throughout the movie.... We miss this part in this Ayalan movie... No twist and turns... Climax is very straightforward... Somewhere some twist would have been engaging... Something could have done with Isha Koppikar role... May be alien seeing the future issues and came to past to stop it could have been more interesting....

But I understand with the budget constraint they may not be able to bring everything in this film... Theater was full in USA... Because kids are watching... Tamil film industry needs to learn this... We need more kids watchable films... That will bring the collection to different level... Never encourage kids to watch mass heros fight scenes and violence... Irresponsible act from Big heroes just to bring more collection.... Need different genres in the movies... Like alien, time travel, suspense, etc... great effort in this movie.. appreciate the director for his efforts and waiting.... Thanks Siva Karthikeyan for appreciating these kinds of movies... Say no to Violence movies...
