This was what made Star Trek great in it's day, the story within the story, and that they found a solution to a problem only to be too late or that problem taking a turn.
I must say I din't see it go dark when it did, and creepy as well. Please give us at least 7 seasons of this greatness.
This was an emotional moving episode. We will all miss Alara, she really was part of The Orville.
I don't know what is the budget for this episode but not even Discovery can beat those guys on the visual style from the show, and this episode is beter than all Star Fake Discovery episodes and the acting is soooooo stellar compared to the wooden acting from Discovery, and i was surprised to see two REAL STAR TREK and STARGATE STARS in a single episode.
The first two episodes were quite the bore, and this episode is a definite breath of fresh air with its story telling. We got to see some crucial world building that this series needs with a episode not based around the now infamous maklins. Hopefully the series contains on this high and doesn't fall back to episode 1 and 2s bland story telling.

- TriviaThe house of Lt. Kitan's parents is the same filming location as the parental house of Johnny Rico from the movie Starship Troopers (1997). Incidentally, both sets of parents disagree with their child's choice to join the galactic fleet.
- GoofsAt the very beginning of the episode, Dr. Finn informs Alara that her muscle mass has deteriorated by 20%, to which Alara reacts with shock. That would be a massive drop in her ability to function. She should have noticed such a large drop in muscle mass (or the writers should have picked a smaller, more believable percentage of deterioration).
- Quotes
Lt. Alara Kitan: Open your stupid ears and listen: All I ever needed to hear from you was "You can do it". That's all. Just once. And-and maybe it would have been a lie, but I needed that, dad. I really needed it. And you know who said it to me instead? Captain Mercer, Commander Grayson, and everyone on the Orville. But not my own father.
