I'm the daughter of a veteran who was a tail gunner on B24's in World War II. I'm the niece of two men: one who fought in the Pacific and one in France. The one in France never came home. He was 19. I'm the widow of a submariner who was stationed on a fast attack submarine for 18 months in the early 70's. The Navy helped subsidize a trip to Rome for those of us who could make the trip to meet up with our husbands in Italy. My husband survived the Cold War but later died in a car crash when two young men who couldn't speak English entered the highway going the wrong way. Survivors suffer from PTSD, too. I don't care if you didn't like the movie but honor the men and women who served. So many were killed, wounded or carried the memories and were wounded warriors themselves in one way or another. Honor them or keep your mouth shut.
understandable
I think this is one of those films that will hold your attention throughout if you understand what's going on. If you've had ptsd then you'll understand and follow it, the silences, the feelings when everything is standing still but people are carrying on as normal and you realise you've sat in your thoughts for hours. I can only imagine how these guys adjust to life.

Worth watching.
It's a great approach when you tackle the issues of PTSD. Some cases it's never really discussed, especially in film. I had the opportunity to see this during it's run at the Edmonton International Film Festival in October 2017. I actually used to work with the guys who made this film years ago. They are determined, and very ambitious in their work. I am extremely proud of these guys, and what they have achieved.
stay away!!!!
In the beginning of this film we see a female nurse wearing a kaki trousers!!!!
in ww2 nurses never wore trousers.never.stay away from this piece of rubbish,
the acting is terrible, especially the so called actress who's playing the wife of
the so called "protagonist",he is almost as bad as her,the story arc is simply
ludicrous, the plastic tank models are small and look completely new, like
someone just took them out of box seconds before the "battle" scene was shot.
Looks like something done by a bunch of reenactors
This is one of the worst war movies I have ever seen. The battle scenes look like they were done by reenactors, the homefront scenes are stilted and full of stereotypes. The acting is awful and direction terrible. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is that it is trying (badly) to address PTSD.

- TriviaThe illustration on the bottle of Hermit whiskey is virtually the same as the illustration of "The Hermit" in the middle of Led Zeppelin's fourth album.
