One for all and all for one ...
All-in-all the best episode this season.
Understand the criticism but ...
Stranger things IS FAR from PERFECT, I could make a list of « stupid » events/plots and that list could go on and on, but I love the characters, their développement was cool interesting this season, how some of the kids mature faster than others,... as a teen :) it's sooo relatable!
And that's exactly my point! Even though this show is far from perfect, and sometimes a bit cheesy, or too slow for others it's sooo ENJOYABLE! And at the end that's what count no?
There are enough points where the Duffers het my respect for, for example the way how they create a mission for every group of characters, and how they bring those together in the final plot.
And yeah , sometimes it's slow , but what did y'all expect? That from star on the monsters would be chasing your favorite characters? If you don't spend enough time on the character développement, why would you care if they get chased, or die?
At the end, that's what's count for me! It's totally not perfect but it's very nice, relatable, fun enjoyable to watch, and apart of that, you sometimes get thrilled and surprised !
An odd shift for sure
Season 2 was more of the same, just not quite as strong. Still very enjoyable and well acted, and emotional. Yes, yes more of the same.
Season 3, so far as I can tell, has ditched the deep mystery plotting and has gone straight for thrills and scares and a plot that's pretty straightforward. I'm personally enjoying it for the most part. It honestly feels a bit like a different show, the actors being a little older and dealing with some more mature stuff (except the dating stuff). I'm fine with it so far anyway. I'm in this for the acting and characters and that's all fine and dandy (although Hopper seems juuuuust a little out of character in my opinion).
Very interested in seeing how this ball goes. It's not as good as the other two seasons so far, but I'm still enjoying it.
Time for a breather.
In E Pluribus Unum, El throws the Mindflayer out of a window and tries to locate the source of the monster by tapping into Billy's memories, the mayor organises the 4th July celebrations, Steve is tortured by the Russians, Alexei spills the beans, and Dustin and Erica carry out a rescue mission.
A lot of stuff happens, and it all trundles along at a reasonable pace, but the big set-pieces aren't there, making this one marginally less satisfying compared to what preceded it.
Superb! Awesome dream/memory sequence

- TriviaYou can indeed call Murray Bauman's (Brett Gelman) revealed phone number (618-625-8313). It's a real number that leads to a very real fake answering machine message, where the character yells at you for calling.
- GoofsWhen the Mind Flayer's ooze descended into the sewers, a large bone was too large to fit through the sewer grate. However, just prior when the ooze flowed through the hospital door's lower vent & under the door, the same bone wouldn't have fit through those narrow gaps either.
- Quotes
Dustin Henderson: Holy shit - you're a nerd!
Erica Sinclair: Come again?
Dustin Henderson: You... are... a... nerd!
Erica Sinclair: Okay, you better take that back, nerd!
Dustin Henderson: Can't put the truth back in the box.
Erica Sinclair: But it's not the truth.
Dustin Henderson: Let's examine the facts, shall we? Fact one: you're a math whiz, apparently...
Erica Sinclair: That was a pretty straightforward equation.
Dustin Henderson: Fact two: you're a political junkie...
Erica Sinclair: Just because I don't agree with communism as an ideology...
Dustin Henderson: [holding up her backpack] Fact number three: you LOVE 'My Little Pony.'
Erica Sinclair: And what does 'My Little Pony' have to do with this?
Dustin Henderson: Let's recall the ponies' latest adventure, shall we? The evil centaur team and Tyrek turns Applejack into a dragon at Midnight Castle, and Megan and the other ponies have to use Moochik's magic to defeat his rainbow of darkness, saving them from a lifetime of enslavement. All the pink in the world can't disguise the irrefutable fact that centaurs and castles and dragons and magic are all standard nerd tropes. Ergo, 'My Little Pony' is nerdy, ergo, you, Erica, are a nerd.
Erica Sinclair: And how do YOU know so much about 'My Little Pony?'
Dustin Henderson: Because, I'm a nerd.
[finishes shutting off the fan]
Dustin Henderson: Let's go... Nerd.
