First Of All,I Didn't Expect So Much To This Movie When Released...I Just Decided To Watch This Movie In Cinemas As Time Pass...But, It's Biggest Plot Twist In My Life...This Movie Is Really Awesome And Freaking Good.... Maybe One Of A Best Malaysian Movie Ever Made Right Now.... Unless Like Other Horror Movies Especially Tamil Language Are Tottaly Rubbish,Horrible, Funny And Illogical,But This Movie Has Shown Me Tht Tamil Cinema Also Have Good Creations In Horror Movies...So, I'm Going To Watch This Movie Again 👌👌😆😆
I didn't have the chance to watch Poochandi in theatres, thankfully it's available on Astro First.
Firstly, I love the concept that was put forward in this film. Love how the director managed to fuse ancient practices, ancient civilization, religion and Malaysia seamlessly into this gripping story. This film is not messing around with that usual elements that you find in local films.
It feels very genuinely Malaysian without having any South Indian filmmaking flavor that we are all accustomed to, hence the result is very impressive. I can see the amount of research that went into crafting this story.
Overall it's a stunning Malaysian horror film. I won't say it's as good as South Indian films because I believe South Indian films are not a benchmark for filmmaking. We Malaysian have so much of stories to be told: that's unique to us and our ancestry. After Jagat, Poochandi is truly a benchmark for local made films.
Kudos to Wickneswaren Kaliaperumal for this impressive work. I should've watched it in theatres.
Easy 8/10 for me.

I watched the much anticipated Poochandi in cinemas. Honestly, I did not expect much as I was conscious of watching a Malaysian Tamil movie. No offence, for a few valid reasons, the bar is always set very low for my personal liking.
However, Poochandi actually hit the top and brought me to unexpected zones which left me in awe. This is a huge leap in the Malaysian Tamil industry and easily the best Malaysian Tamil film.
I would give it to the whole team simply because of the story and screenplay. Apart from that, the deep research on the history of Kadaram is something very commendable. Director JK Wicky has a great passion for Tamil history, especially the history of Kadaram.
The revelations at the end was something which most are blind of. This movie is technically and aesthetically sound. Despite all the praises, I felt that the ending should have been more elaborate with a proper conclusion. This is my only gripe.
Poochandi is the benchmark for Malaysian Tamil movies! A must watch.

I'm a Malay and a Muslim. I watch this movie with no expectations. It was trending in Netflix and Imdb reviews is good. Was rather skeptical but meh, I just watch it. Within minutes, I got hooked. In the end, I was blown away.
The best thing about this movie is the story and writings. So stop reading about the plot. Cinematography is also good. The acting by leads is good.
Few things this movie can improve. The setting/house is a bit unrealistic. Coin seller living in that kind of house? Also, it feels a bit low budget. But thats ok. Could use better supporting cast.
Overall, if you like horror movie with good story, this movie is recommended.

Unlike other ghost or paranormal movies, POOCHANDI manage to keep hooked on the screen with different adaptation in the series. A gripping storyline with the performance delivered by both new and senior actors best conveyed through entire film.
