Im tired of the Jamie stuff

I am tired of the fake Jamie plot. They continue to come up with lame excuse after lame excuse why Jamie does not want to advance in the Police department, and it just makes Jamie look like an idiot. I KNOW why the producers are doing this, it is because they want one of the Reagans to be a lawyer, one to be the boss, one to be a detective and one be a beat cop. But keeping Jamie a regular police officer with zero promotion is just stupidity.

First off before I explain why its stupid, understand that most police officers remain beat cops and don't get promotions, but this is because these exams are not easy and not everyone that becomes a police officer can pass them. Also, as Frank said, they dont offer them all the time, but only when they need someone.

So why is it stupid, because Jamie is not thinking of the future. First off there is substantial pay raises and benefits to being a sergeant, as well as more oportunities. He is not always going to be in the condition and physical shape he is in and may one day want that desk job or to be a detective and getting a leg up never hurts. Also, as Frank said, Sergeants still go out on the street and patrol just like everyone else. Some are relegated to desk duty yes, but there are more than one at every precinct. I have the same issue with Danny not taking the sergeants exam either, it would change NOTHING in his job but give him more money, which he has needed lately since he lost his wifes income. Something they only adressed in one episode.

    One fine family

Nice interplay among the characters and interesting stories in this one.

The late Nick Cordero, a tragic victim of the Covid-19 epidemic, is excellent as the con who is supposed to be helping on a case, but humorously his assistance is nil. This main storyline within the hour is filled with interesting twists, solid action and strong character turns, especially by Nick.

The snappy dialogue is terrific, well-delivered by the steady cast of regulars. Plenty of time for family relationships for Tom and Bridget is included and rather than intruding on the action instead gives our heroes some depth and exactly what keeps fans returning year after year to follow their saga. We've come a long way (baby) from those awful days of monotone and dreary Jack Webb time-killers.

Well what do you know! It's about time.

I was beginning to think the writers and production staff had forgotten this was a law enforcement drama with family over-tones. They have been working at wrecking this fine show with the what the producers want to say about their take on the goings on in Washington DC, the borders of the United States, and other miscellaneous political issues that have been in the news since November 2017. The first five seasons were great, not that realistic, eg. homicide detectives going in ahead of the SWAT team in dangerous situations. We all know they've got to make the stars look good. This is the first episode in quite a while that went back to the roots of the show. A compelling crime story, with a balanced mix of interpersonal issues at the DA's office, and family issues. This was a good episode. And they stuck to the original premise. They have an excellent cast, and in this episode they used them. And it was great to see again. Worth watching. If this episode had been another like the one last week. I was going to give on this show.

    Perfect Episode

This is my all-time favorite episode. The dialogue between Anthony and Erin is snappy and hilarious, and Danny's hate/hate relationship with Victor Lugo is on full display. Steve Schirripa's addition to the cast was a stroke of genius. I look forward every week to what he is going to do but more to what he is going to say in his Brooklynese. Such a shame that Nick Cordero, who played Victor Lugo, passed away from COVID. I looked forward to that character appearing from time to time and totally irritating Danny, the Defective Detective.

    Big Brother has arrived

Donnie Wahlberg and Mariisa Ramirez have to tote Nick Cordero in their pursuit of a cop killer. This guy has proved elusive since he did the deed. The best way is to locate Stephanie Andujar.

Big Brother shows he has really arrived as with all the surveillance cameras once they get a face picture, facial recognition softwear kicks in and you can get tracked. Still Stephanie Andujar is not without some deadly tricks of her own.

Also Tom Selleck thinks that Will Estes should be moving up the ladder at the NYPD. By that he really wants his youngest child to take the sergeant's exam and at least get on a list.

And Bridget Moynahan is being two timed, but that will not happen without consequences as long as her street smart investigator Steven Schirippa is around.

Highlight of the episode is Cordero realizing what one in Andujar's bag of tricks was and trying to warn the cops.
