Chris Chan AKA Christian Weston Chandler, the most documented man in YouTube history, is presented to the audience, from childhood to modern day. This may sound like an all to common documentary. This ongoing series by Geno Samuel on YT is anything close to such. It's shocking, disturbing, saddening, and even at times rather humorous "perhaps unintentional" by the narrators ability to maintain himself while reading off the typed posts and emails of Chris Chan. It initially dives into Chris's early childhood, his creation of Sonichu "the fictional non canon electric Pokémon meant to be a mix of Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokémon's Pikachu." and of course, his eventual attempts of finding a "boyfriend-free-girl". This leads to what has likely been the most massive ongoing troll job to this very day. Dive in to the first episode, and witness the decline of the self proclaimed high functioning autistic man, as you see virtually every aspect of his life through his texts, emails, drawings, and phone recordings. If you're like me, and so many others, you'll eventually ask yourself, much like Geno Samuel asks the audience in the into: "What keeps us fascinated?"
I stumbled across this page and saw it didn't have any reviews yet, so have mine. Grigonis delivers a thoughtful, precise and impartial review of the life of 'Chris Chan' with great editing and an overall feeling of care put into the work. Whilst other videos dealing with the same subject matter have circled around, nothing compares to the deep dive Gringonis takes you on as he explores the trails and tribulations of the internets Truman. Time flies by through the episodes, and I find myself disapointed when I finish the lastest and have to wait for the next one.
One of the best documentaries I've watched, period.

I'm at a loss for words but it is extremely compelling. I really don't know what to make of this year except to say that it pulls off what few documentaries do. It's never boring and seems to be painstakingly factual. The subject matter is just well again, words fall short. I guess you would call this a tragic story of Internet fame/infamy. Bingeworthy.
In a hundred years, people will use this as a benchmark. They'll praise something by saying it is "A 22nd Century Chris Chan: A Comprehensive History". And we were there. Were like those guys who picked up Einstein's book on release day or whatever. We're the guys who picked up Beethoven's CD the day he dropped it.

- TriviaThe series was taken off YouTube after the website accused Edvinas Grigonis of bullying and harrassing Christine Weston Chandler, which of course, Grigonis wasn't. The series is now in Grigonis' website, Geno Samuel.
