As usually, the asteroid belt is depicted as being very densely packed, barely leaving space to navigate between each rock, and referred as "Sirius A's version of an Oort cloud".
Asteroid belts, such as the one between Mars and Jupiter, present such densities that there are in average thousands of kilometers between asteroids, leaving plenty of space to fly through them.
