I was kinda curious to watch this. Wasn't expecting too much as i knew it was a VOD low budget, and it turned out to be pretty much what i expected it to be. There is some entertainement in there, but it could had been lot better.
The concept of limb removal do not really make much sense as no one could be fighting right after that and how come a bunch of hillbillies end up having the medical competence to do this? I guess its one of those thing you need to suspend your disbelief and not care, wich is what i did.
Once around that how's the movie itself? Its alright... Fights could had been better but were not terrible either and some characters decisions/plot points didn't made sense, but i found some entertainement in it. I wasn't bored. But i did roll my eyes a few times at the nonsense so i can't really give it more than the half point mark of a 5.

This is not a real review, it should be understood more as a collection of impressions on the film.
In this film there are some beautiful girls and a lot of violence in a place like a coliseum but in a landfill where the fighters have a weapon instead of a hand, so the plot of the film may seem stupid and even futile and look at it it's too worse than one might imagine, truly terrible and terrible rubbish that isn't even funny and with nothing truly beautiful to appeal to. In conclusion the film is complete rubbish and therefore its setting in a landfill is more than appropriate so the film can throw itself away.

Only slightly sub-par, but pretty gory. Definitely has a few little holes and story parts that don't quite make sense. I mean, weapon-arms are neat, but why risk infection and weakness by doing it? Unless it were to replace limbs lost in the arena, and then I'd totally understand.
I liked the score, and some of the deaths were B-movie gruesome. The ending did put a smile on my face.
However, what this really needed was to be a couple decades into a post-apocalypse, or in some lawless strife-ridden foreign country. This scale of kidnapping and killing in America didn't quite work for me without there being some much deeper conspiracy.

I came for the over the top violent combat, and Spare Parts was pretty good in that regard. If only every other part of the film wasn't a mess. It starts off strong, then quickly devolves into a heap of inconsistent/unbelievable characters, lame plot twists and kinda maybe revenge. Spare Parts is good for a few laughs and cringes at the sheer silly exaggeration of the film, but not much else.
Don't get me wrong, this movie is exactly what you think it is going to be, so there are no surprises. For what it is attempting to be, well... it is. It's a B movie with some good gags (f/x). There isn't anything new nor provocative. The acting isn't terrible and the direction isn't terrible either. The script is what it is. And I'd imagine that the movie did the script justice. If you haven't seen a lot of movies, you may just love this one! Read the movie's description. That's exactly what you'll get.
