Angolmois: Genkou Kassenki

Genkou Kassenki is a historic drama with extremely bad writing, awful animation and a very irritating book texture over everything, all the time.

Also, it definitely was released in 2020, in order to get some attention due to Ghost Of Tsushima game.

This anime has some good's and bad's like all animes, however the bad's slightly overshadow the good parts.

Good: story is decently written, voice acting is not terrible, and the animation is good. Bloody, violent without going overboard or being excessive. I liked the MC though all characters (MC included) were rather shallow due to lack of time and character development. The show also has a semi-real take on war and battlefield tactics that makes you realize that not all battles and wars end with happy endings and everyone lives.

Bad: shallow characters due to the 12 episode limit and pace of the show. The fight scenes are good but rather short and segmented lacking battlefield fluidity. The princess MC I feel was written to deliberately annoy viewers with her lack of battlefield/tactics knowledge but if that was the case then well written.

If you like action based on historical events without historical accuracy that doesn't require much thought or depth then this is a good short binge anime.

Good writing. Good dialogue. Great characters. If you are any type of fighter or soldier you will really relate to this. Not to mention there is either action or story development going on the whole time, not just empty filler scenes. I am waiting to give it a 10 . I can't quite put this title up with "Cowboy Beebop" just yet.

One of the most fast paced and tense animes I've seen. There's always something important happening and the stakes are life or death. There's not a lot of character development but this show doesn't need that. It feels like what people do when the world is about to end. They do the best they can.

The MC was my kind of hero. He's dedicated but not a dreamer. The villains were awful in a good way with each being unique. The group fight scenes are low budget but the one on ones are epic.

At 12 episodes, it was exactly what I was looking for. I'm glad this finally became available. 9/10.
