This show is a must see!
This show is like the sphinx, or like the leaning tower of Pisa. 99% perfect. The flaws add to the perfection. There are no bad guys. Rayla, Ezran, and Callum, may be the protagonists, but Viren, Claudia and Soren are hardly despicable bad guys. In fact, they have qualities we can agree with. There are no bad guys. Just politically juxtaposed ideals and steadfastness in their stances. This show is basically just as good, maybe better than Game of Thrones. It's a family friendly version. These characters are magnetic, substantial. Every character has redeeming qualities we can relate to. 100% certified fresh? I fully agree. This show is a must watch for everyone
Fun for the whole family
My whole family (kids ages 12, 9 & 7 & 2 adults) really enjoys watching this show together! The characters are well done. The dialogue is witty and funny. The story is very compelling! We hope more seasons come out Very Soon!
The kids tell me to add that the little creature named Bait is the best!
What happened with this series? Such a downgrade after season 3!
I haven't checked but I wouldn't believe the series was made with the same showrunner and writers after season 3, nope, that can't be true. The first 3 seasons were very good (except I didn't like the lame solutions writers used to make evil doing characers look more "grey" by giving them recurring silly jokes and childish behaviour ).
But season 4 was so disappointing after the almost great first 3 seasons, I just couldn't believe. And now season 5 is... almost BAD. I can't say it's slighly good, nope, sorry.
My rating is for the downgrade of the last 2 seasons, however animation and music are still very good (also with exception of the anime/k-pop facial changes). The images and movements of characters are quaility productions, no doubt.
After watching season 5 these problems are clear: 1. Creators don't know what to do with characters (or maybe not even with the story itself). For example what happens with Claudia in season 5? For like 3 episodes she... just drags his father and she needs a rest. That's all. Viren is in coma during most of the 9 episodes with some non-sensical, time wasting fever dreams (that Twin Peaks scene was WTF?!). Ozymandias, you know the all-important little dragon prince is there but... he's just there, as a bio-decor. Also strange, that the subtitle became "Mystery of Aarvos" and yet he has smaller sceen time than he had in previous seasons, and we didn't get to know more about him at all than we what already knew previously.
2. The story of season 5 is extremely thin! Almost nothing happened in this season, the story just dragges, episodes pass and the story doesn't really move forward. I honestly say, what happens during 3-4 episodes of season 5, would have happened within 1 episode in the well written first 3 seasons. Season 5 is full of filler scenes which has no substanial meaning or importance for the story or characters. If the first 3 season were like this, I wouldn't have liked it and I'm sure this series wouldn't have become so popular.
3. World building considerably slowed down, character development completely stopped with a few exceptions. Characters do some actions but all these usually feel empty (like when Ezran was nerveously perparing for his speech with the dragons but then it just happened), if there's a conflict they mostly seem forced (like with Rayla telling Callum about the coins containing her beloveds' souls). The only drama and conflict which worked in this season was of Amaya and Jamai.
I wonder how someone would sum up what season 5 was about and what happend in it?
Also what happens with the main characters in these 9 episodes, for example with Ezran (who seem a side character now), Viren, Claudia or Callum (oh yeah, he connected with another arcanum but besides that... I mean 9 episodes...) or Soren (who became a plain comif relief).
I can't hide my disappointment, season 5 is rather BAD than good. :(

Worth the binge
I was skeptical when I saw this announced and heard it was from Avatar creators. While The Last Airbender was a good show, I didn't want to see that recreated with dragons slapped on the label. While the show initially irked me by following the same "Book/Chapter" format to the seasons and titles along with having elemental sources of power, I was happily refreshed by how original everything else was. While there are design elements I don't necessarily like, all of the characters so far are so unique and unexpected. Who thinks to animate a mute warrior and have them use sign language in a cartoon? And it really works. Overall I really like the story and want to see more. And I, for one, enjoy the animation style. It draws me back to Dragon Booster and I love it.
Fantastic
This show is absolutely fantastic if you're a fan of Avatar the last Airbender or even just a fan of fantasy this is the perfect show for you the story is in depth the characters are great and it's all so well paced you'll be wanted more after every season watched. Highly recommended!!

- TriviaAvatar: The Last Airbender references: While traveling through the Midnight Desert, Callum, voiced by Jack De Sena, says "This looks familiar.... boomerang?" This is a tribute to the boomerang-wielding character Sokka from Avatar: The Last Airbender, who was also voiced by Jack De Sena. There is also a reference in the first episode, when Claudia is reading a book while walking across a courtyard. The book is called 'Love Amongst the Dragons', the same name as the play mentioned by Zuko in the season three episode The Ember Island Players(2008).
