    Opinion change

My opinion on this episode I still think it's a great episode but after rewatching her first season I have to say episodes like Kerblam are way better so my opinion on this one has changed and I have to say there are better episodes and better stories in her first season after revisiting it.

Verdict now on this episode 8.9/10 just think there are better episodes and this one kinda falls short on rewatch unlike Kerblam and it Takes You Away which had better ideas and still hold up on rewatch.

Also it Takes You Away was much better one rewatch and in my opinion very underrated episode.

    Another meh episode

Whislt the plot wasn't terrible, the whole family dynamic stuff was just tacked on - not badly written, simply from another show. Oh and by the way the 'jokes' just fell a bit flat. Please stop it Chris.

The Doctor should not be nice!

Like so many others, I was excited to see what Jodie Whittaker could bring to the role of The Doctor. And I was also far from alone when the first few episodes failed to see her find her proper footing. "She'll get it yet," we consoled ourselves.

But now we're eleven eps in, and I've finally figured why she isn't a proper Doctor: She's too *nice.*

Eccleston's Doctor reminded the Daleks that they called him "The Oncoming Storm." Remember Tennant's Doctor against the Sycorax? "It... is... defended!" Even Matt Smith's deceptively calm question to the Atraxi: "Is this world protected?" followed by a seemingly mild suggestion: "Basically... run." And Capaldi *was* The Oncoming Storm.

With this Doctor, however, there's no fire in her eyes or in her voice. Her "I am The Doctor" moments are mild. "If you want this planet, you'll have to come through me!" Really? Charlotte Ritchie was far more menacing, and I can readily picture her as the next Doctor.

Jodie needs better writing, and a more fiery delivery, if she's to succeed as The Doctor.

    I've really tried.....

...... To enjoy this season but I can't. The doctor being female is not the issue, nor are the actors. It's the feel of the show, it's just so wrong. It's like watching an average and generic American Sci fi show, it's lost what made it unique. This episode is a prime example, bad script and poor storyline. No imagination and apparently little regard for actual fans.

    Time for Regeneration

I love Jodi, but she isn't able to help the scripts. I seriously doubt Benedict Cumerbatch could save this poor writing.

The group concept of companions doesn't work. The lead is not given the opportunity to be in charge. New writing is a must.

    • Trivia
Given that rels are established to be 1.2 seconds in Evolution of the Daleks (2007), the "9376 rels" are approximately equivalent to 3 hours, 7 minutes and 31 seconds, answering The Doctor's question.

    • Quotes

Dalek: [a Dalek suddenly bursts through a sealed door within a large warehouse] I am rebuilt!

The Doctor: [examining the reconstructed Dalek front and back] What do you call this look - junkyard chic?

Dalek: Earth is now under control of the Daleks.

The Doctor: No it's not. You couldn't even control one person.

      Dalek: Humanity will surrender.

The Doctor: They really won't, trust me. I've seen them in action. They've fought off so many things, including the worst of their own people. They're really stubborn. Have you not worked that out yet?
