Hard to remember this was directed by the same guy that made the clone wars series from 2003.
All i can say is It looks funky and made with some love for animation. Its not souless at the least, but the paycheck from this better fund season 2 and 3 for unicorn: warriors eternal cause gotdamn genndy this was a literal stinker.

Raunchy but passionate
I feel that the movie was judged too fast based on the slap together Netflix trailers. Sure it's raunchy with a simple story, but I really like that we got an original 2D animated film that's manages to be its own thing with a cool cast of characters and a great animation style. After hearing how long it took Genndy to get this thing made I couldn't help but feel the passion in every frame. Well maybe not every frame. Still a little upset it got robbed from its theatrical release, but at least it didn't get shelved.
What happened to Genndy Tartakovsky?
Fixed (2025) is an adult animated romantic sex comedy movie on Netflix and it was written and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, the legendary creator of Dexter's Laboratory (1996-2003) and Samurai Jack (2001-2017). Now on paper, this movie should be for me, but unfortunately this movie was awful.
Positives for Fixed (2025): Adam DeVine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett and Bobby Moynihan all do a good job with their voice acting. The 2D animation looks amazing and I miss this style of animation. That's all I've got to say for the positives.
Negatives for Fixed (2025): The writing is shockingly terrible and this movie was written by Genndy Tartakovsky and I know he is a good writer, but you won't know that after watching this movie. The comedy is low hanging jokes about dog body parts. I wasn't a fan of the dogs swearing as it felt like that was the only thing Tartakovsky thought would work, but it doesn't and I don't mind watching dogs swear in an animated movie. Adam DeVine's character is painfully unlikable and annoying as he is trying to go after this dog, who has no personality, and it's the most cliched love story that you can imagine. There is a point where the dogs are surrounded by cast and instead of attacking them, they stand like idiots and get attacked by the cats. And finally, the happy ending for Adam Devine's character is so forced in and it wasn't even earned.
Overall, Fixed (2025) is one of the biggest disappointments of 2025 for me especially given Genndy Tartakovsky's track record with animation and that really sucks.

Beautiful
Fixed is Genndy Tartakovsky's long time project finally given form and it differs from everything he has made prior. Vulgar beyond belief and with caricaturesque character designs, one would think this is a Kricfalusi or Bakshi production, though I suppose Tartakovsky's more fluid animation style would give it away for what it truly is.
As cited before, the animation is the best part of the movie. It's nice to see a high profile 2D animated movie in 2025. The story is alright; some jokes land, others don't. It also has a surprising amount of heart for a movie about dog sex, though that strongly depends on whereas you find the protagonist, Bull, likeable.
A recommendation, albeit perhaps one for the most strong-stomached.

Cannot be viewed seriously, take it for what it is...
A foul-mouthed comedy in cartoon format about a dog about to have his bits off...
It's like South Park meets lady and the tramp...
I caught the kids watching it a quickly had to turn it off but decided to watch it later in the evening. Killed some time but can't say I'd watch it again.

- TriviaGenndy Tartakovsky wanted the animation to be reminiscent of Disney's Lady and the Tramp (1955), while also drawing inspiration from the works of Tex Avery and Chuck Jones' Looney Tunes shorts, particularly due to their emphasis on expressive animation.
- GoofsAfter hitting Bull with her car, Honey's owner should have recognized him as her neighbors' dog and taken him home, following the dog show.
