Parisienne People by Roman Polanski

Roman Polanski returns to advertising in the late 1990's with a cigarette commercial (back when those were dying out from view around the world) is also a return to the vampire theme ever since the cult comedy "The Fearless Vampire Killers".

In this ad shot filmed in one continuous take, an old vampire claims his victim in a highly concentrated effort that leaves him exhausted afterwards. To catch his breath, as he walks out to the foreground, you can imagine what kind of relief he'll get to recompose himself. Like a sexual act that was so good and so intense, he obviously goes to taste the famous French cigarette - which also had an ad made by Jean-Luc Godard in the late 1980's, but with a different theme.

One minute long, weirdly filmed but very economical in what Mr. Polanski presents and the ideas he wants to convey, but it's quite amusing to watch, and original too (if we consider the product in question, since Marlboro always had the lonely, free-spirited cowboy). A change of route that worked. 7/10.
