I recently bought the gorier butcher's cut on my Xbox with more killers, more gore, more puzzles, and x-rated deleted scenes and it's a fun and VERY darkly funny homage to 80's And 90's slashers, it does not take itself seriously whatsoever with some of the scene names and killer kodes lol
Slayaway Camp is a block sliding puzzle game if that makes any sense. You control one of a long list of spoofed horror icons ranging from Jason Voorhees to Michael Myers, to IT and the Pinhead and work your way around levels killing off your prey.
It begins very easy and as new mechanics get added to the game such as police, swat, mines and more the difficulty spikes.
It has its own unique animation style, almost South Park like but with square people. The violence is suitably over the top, it has a charming 80's theme to it and really impressed me from the outset.
I grew up with camp themed 80's horror movies so I felt quite at home, I also adored the non-stop homages to countless movie icons and franchises.
Slayaway camp isn't an action packed game and despite the theme is still a puzzle orientated so not for everyone. It has overwhelming amounts of content, is incredibly addictive and is something I'd love to see more of.
Damn fine game.
The Good:
Lot of great homages
Feels very nostalgic
Addictive as hell
Very well constructed
Excellent soundtrack
The Bad:
Can get a bit grindy
Things I Learnt From This Game:
The simplest ideas tend to be the best (Or maybe I just have a simple mind)
Killing Cats causes game over, why can't it be like that in the movies?!
If you put camp slasher into google with the family filter off, it comes up with some scary stuff that is NOT what I had in mind!

Slayaway Camp is a very scary and fun horror game. It gives the players a lot of features including killers, killing scenes and even movies. The graphics are pretty good. The game doesn't really connect to each movie, but rather a tribute to the horror movies. The bonus scenes are actually good additions to extend the gaming time for players to do. And it does give us some really good strategy. To help us figure out for even some of the levels that would get hard. Overall, this is a fun and scary game for horror movie fans to enjoy.
