My Deadly Playmate

Needless to say that I had, of course, never even heard about this 2018 horror movie titled "My Deadly Playmate", from writer and director Michael Leo Centi. But given my love of all things horror, of course I opted to give the movie a fair chance.

But from the first three minutes alone, it was painstakingly obvious that this was going to be an utmost questionable affair.

And I have to admit that the storyline in the movie fell flat on the floor. It didn't even have a running chance to get off of the runway.

The acting performances in "My Deadly Playmate" were dubious, wooden, questionable and downright laughable. Needless to say that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list.

Now, I've always had an aversion to movies that are written by, directed by and starring the one and same person. Lo and behold, "My Deadly Playmate" was on such as movie as Michael Leo Centi was performing all three roles.

Even the music in the movie is a testament to how bad the movie is.

And the movie is filmed on what appears to be writer and director Michael Leo Centi's father's VCR camera recorder from the 1980s. The image quality was somewhat reminiscent of VHS quality.

Do yourself a big favor and stay well clear of this train wreck of a movie. Trust me, it is simply not worth the effort. It is a downright terrible movie, but not in the sense where it becomes so bad it is fun to watch. Nay, "My Deadly Playmate" is just pure and simply bad. B-A-D.

My rating of writer and director Michael Leo Centi's 2018 movie "My Deadly Playmate" lands on a very generous one out of ten stars.

Was this an attempt to create a budgetless parody, a rehearsal for a highschool theatre? With no actors but people speaking out memorized texts. Worst lighting in a lot of scenes. Not sure if jokes were attempted or bad dialogues. Scary soundtrack at not scary moments. Why more than 1 star? Never have seen anything like this, worth that effort. Wonder who could watch after 15 minutes, I gave up.
