Bad documentary about an important issue

The film adresses an important global challenge. However, it lacks a thorough analysis and contains some misinterpretation of basic economics (e.g. comparing total building asset value, which has been built up over decades, with GDP, which is an annual flow). It would have greatly benefitted from some interviews with real estate experts rather than the leftwing activists. This problem deserves a more factual and analytically sound documentary.

    Wish this was better!

Was super interested in the Topic but the documentary was so slow and lacking context / explanations. Wish it was better!

    Utter Sense

Https://m.imdb.com/user/ur4289354/?ref_=m_tt_urv Didn't watch the documentary that I just did lol 😂. This documentary encapsulates one of the most pressing consequence of global hyper-capital in our time! In a world where the few can buy up property, not live in it, and sell it to someone else for a higher profit. And then continue to sell it to more investors who never live their all while threatening the people who live there to leave. Is in violation of not only international law, but as a human being!

And buy continuing to raise the price overall on housing across the globe, where will lower income families be able to live if these practices continue to dominate the world real estate markets?

    Important reporting

Important reporting on the post-modern global capitalist economics where housing, one of the basic human rights, has become a commodity and a tool of exploitation by large financial firms and companies. The film describes the same situation in different locations around the world and does a great job in explaining the phenomena in a generally understandable manner.

And no, the film is not against private ownership of housing, many of the people who have lost their homes in the film owned their apartments or homes. It's about the growing inequality of wealth and a system that fails to protect those most vunerable.

Capitalist supporters will not like this documentary.

As an European I can clearly see how many Americans will see this as communist, marxist propaganda. The thing is they really need to broaden their view on the world, visit other cultures in more than 2 hours, stay for a freaking week instead of switching holiday locations like it was TV channels. Learn the people in the other cultures. Then maybe then they can understand what this is all about, a shame really cause its a spot on documentary on one of the worlds biggest problems. Our planet can not withstand Capitalism. The resources ARE finite, whereas the growth models in Capitalism works like the resources are infinite.
