They are just not long enough!

So sad 3 episodes are already gone and they are just not long enough for me. I love all the little clues Sherlock and Joan pick up but I need more. I love to try and use them to figure out whom that we have already met is the perpetrator (scored tonight!). And did we meet someone who got a small victory over Sherlock tonight (at least temporarily lol). Keep it coming and lets have Tom awake soon although pro temp was cool in his own way. What can replace this when it's run its course? I dont know but hope thats its half as good as this has been.

LaGrange (Daniel Davis) asks why he would hire Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) if he was guilty. Sherlock says that he was once called in by a retired colourman (a dealer in colors and paints) to find his missing wife and lover, even though he had killed them. This was the plot of the 1926 short story "The Adventure of the Retired Colourman" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Goofs
The archaeological journal from 1928 speaks of "methane smell" but methane and indeed natural gas are usually odorless. The typical gas smell associated with natural gas today is the result of another chemical intentionally added to it precisely so people can smell it, and thus notice gas leaks more easily. This practice was widely adopted only in 1937 after a deadly school explosion in New London, Texas.
