Simple and Well executed Entertaining Flick

Usually Actor Sj Suriya is known for frequently playing gritty, broken and villainous characters.mostly he distance from doing hopeful and goodhearted guy kind of roles.

But here sj Suriya is something we never seen before his Character (Anjanam Azhagiya Pillai) is so relatable and Inspiring..

Plot is simple a Battle between Man and house rat.which sound's pretty Cartoony but Director Did fine job in writing screenplay that suitable for Even Adult audience to something care about...

Thanks to producers for making this film without preaching any whatsapp forward messages in this film and actress priya bhavani shanker Is so damn gorgeou.I rate 1 extra star just for her screen presence...

One that adults and children can enjoy

Tamil movies don't have a great track record of being child-friendly in recent times. We make good movies - but far too many on caste violence, gang tussles, crazy killers and even crazier ghosts; which is why Monster impressed me. A god-fearing, moral, disciplined simpleton who has vowed to never harm animals is being tortured by.....a house rat! Wow. Can we please applaud the producer who decided to go ahead funding this film? Why can't we have more of these?

It was a danger, of course. A film on a theme as bizarre and simple as this need a good screenplay, solid animation and decent music. Yes, yes, and yes. Monster delivers. Just sit back and enjoy the lighter side of life over some ice cream and this film.

Feel Good Movie with Unique Storyline

Such a Feel good movie with different storyline. SJ Jurya and Priya Venkatesan chemistry is really good. Very good comedy scenes.

Few rat scenes are actually happened in many peoples real life. Expecting more kind of this movie in Tamil industry.

    Good story and message.

    Good movie.

I chased lot of mouse in my life and sent them way from home. Simple story but great message. Must watch.

SJ Surya done great job. The camera work is awesome. Is that a trained mouse? we saw lot of Rat chasing movies, but this is unique. Music and BGM should have done more.

    Mouse are always intelligent.

A wholesome entertainer for the whole family !!

This is a movie made on a relatively simple premise - the travails of the protagonist and a mouse that haunts his home.

But, director Nelson Venkatesan has woven a nifty narrative around this simple construct that is generously suffused with healthy humour. The movie also has a strong message of harmonious coexistence without being preachy.

SJ Surya is spot on with his part as a soft-spoken vulnerable protagonist in a measured performance that is a far cry from his usual exaggerated antics. He is ably supported by Karunakaran who is sharp with his comic timing and the beautiful Priya Bhavani Shankar who does competent job on her part.

The background score as well as songs from Justin Prabhakaran accentuate the flow of the proceedings. Director Nelson deserves credit for brisk narrative that seamlessly blends with breezy inoffensive comedy and technical finesse. If one could overlook some minor niggles, this sophomore (Oru Naal Koothu was his debut) effort heralds him as a talent to look forward to.

Overall, Monster is the latest addition to that critically endangered genre called wholesome healthy entertainer that could be enjoyed by the entire family.

    A HIDDEN GEM !!

    RATING -3.5/5

PS - Monster is available on Amazon Prime Video.
