No surprises here but it's fairly watchable to see how this formula obsession thriller unfolds. A youngish recovering cancer patient rents a room from a single lady doctor. The doctor lost her child years before so she obsessed over her and starts to isolate her from the girl's ex boy friend and bestie. It's okay to watch. The wacko isn't too homicidal.
Ok for one watch but not one of the better ones.
I am a semi-expert on Lifetime movies. I've been married a long time and we only have one television. My wife is a good sport but she's not going to spend all weekend watching James Bond movies. That said, yes, of course I've seen movies like "Home Is Where the Killer Is" before. The movie itself doesn't really standout except for its cast, especially its two leads. Kelly Kruger is dreamy and Stacy Haiduk is really dreamy. I couldn't take my eyes off either one of them. The two of them make this movie more memorable than it should be."Home Is Where the Killer Is" is an easy way to spend a school night.
This movie is slow. Also some directors need to teach actors how to carry take out cups of coffee. The cups must be empty the way they swing them around. Also when Julie makes a hot cup of tea Kelly picks it up like it was cold and tips the cup up too steep. I guess it was empty. It is details like this that ruin a movie. Three actors from The Young and The Restless in this movie are very good actors. The Young and the Restless is one of the worst shows for having empty cups of coffee and tea.
I'm a fan of Lifetime movies, but they've done so many stories of obsession and crazed stalkers. This movie is about a woman grieving over the "death" of her daughter but when another young lady who is the same age as her daughter comes in as her roommate, she becomes obsessive and controlling. Can't say the acting was at all good but to me, it was average. It could have been done a little bit better.
This is THE WORST movie I've seen in a long time. It's forced script and manufactured tension was so shallow and stupid, I couldn't stomach watching but half. Characters go from one mindset to the polar opposite in literally seconds. "Sure, come over and live with me. Oh wait, no I've changed my mind so get lost. Wait! Ok, move in! And by the way, you are welcome to change the decor!" How stupid! Or this one: "Don't be suspicious of my landlord. She's GREAT!" Then in the VERY NEXT SCENE to landlord, "What are you doing in my room while I'm gone? NEVER do that again!" And none of this in an "I'm conflicted" sort of way but rather in a way that makes you ask 'is there no director on set watching how this schizophrenic disaster of a plot plays out?' No context! No development! Just "I love you....wait, I think you follow Charles Manson....but maybe you aren't so bad so let's go clubbing!" PASS!
