Silent Zone

While I had indeed never heard about this 2025 zombie movie titled "Silent Zone", then given my love of all things zombie, of course I had to check it out, without the shadow of a doubt.

Writers Viktor Csák and Krisztián Illés put together a fair enough script. Sure, for a zombie movie, then it was somewhat generic. But it still proved entertaining nonetheless, so the movie did what it was supposed to do.

There wasn't a single familiar actor or actress on the cast list, which is actually something I do enjoy whenever I watch a movie. The acting performances in the movie were fair.

The snarling sounds that the infected, or zombies, made was just downright stupid. It just added a very unnecessary comedy element to the infected, and thus taking away from what was supposed to be scary.

Something that definitely was interesting in "Silent Zone" was that writers Viktor Csák and Krisztián Illés actually put in a small boy turning into an infected. That is usually something zombie movies tend to stay well clear of, so that was a nice touch.

However, the zombie make-up and effects left much to be desired. This was ultimately a low budget zombie movie and it showed. I wasn't particularly impressed with the effects in the movie. I've seen worse low budget zombie effects, of course, but the effects in "Silent Zone" were nothing to write home about.

Some of the music in the movie borrowed a bit too heavily from the iconic "28 Days Later" theme.

"Silent Zone", despite of having a title that made zero sense to the contents of the movie, was a watchable zombie movie, but nothing out of the ordinary. There are far better zombie movies out there.

My rating of director Peter Deak's 2025 zombie movie "Silent Zone" lands on a five out of ten stars.

I love zombie movies-I try to watch as many as I can, and I don't mind if they feature unknown actors. Unfortunately, that also means I'm often disappointed. But Silent Zone turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

I expected another low-budget B-movie filled with cool action scenes, gory zombies, minimal plot, and cliché characters. Instead, I got a film that blends action-horror with genuine drama. The characters are multidimensional, and there were a few plot twists that genuinely surprised me (no spoilers here!).

It's a slow-burn in parts but builds great tension and delivers solid emotional moments alongside the action. If you're a fan of the genre, I definitely recommend giving Silent Zone a chance.

Okay, I have to be honest-when my friends and I sat down to watch Silent Zone, we fully expected a disaster. We're big fans of watching B-movies together, the kind where the plot's a mess, the acting's rough, and the fun comes from laughing at how bad it is. We grabbed snacks, got comfortable, and were ready for some low-budget, post-apocalyptic nonsense. But here's the thing... Silent Zone actually surprised us. And not in a "so bad it's good" way, but in a "wait, this is actually kind of decent?" way.

Sure, the setup is classic B-movie fare. It's the usual post-apocalyptic world, a deadly outbreak, desperate survivors, and the struggle to find safety. Nothing new there. But somewhere along the way, the film actually hooked us. The tension was solid, and there were at least three twists that none of us saw coming. Not groundbreaking stuff, but just clever enough to keep us invested. The story might be familiar, but it never felt lazy. In fact, it felt like the filmmakers were actually trying, which is more than I can say for a lot of movies in this genre.

The characters? Surprisingly good. We went in expecting cardboard cutouts, but they had depth. By the end, we actually cared about what happened to them. And yeah, I'll admit it-I got a little emotional in the final act, which is not what I thought would happen when I hit play.

And Matt Devere? Never heard of him before this, but wow. That guy has a seriously cool voice. The kind of voice that makes you pay attention. He brought this calm, tough energy to his role, and honestly, it really worked. No idea why I haven't seen him in more stuff, but he definitely stood out here.

By the end, we all looked at each other like, "That was actually good, right?" Maybe it's because we went in with zero expectations, but Silent Zone turned out to be a solid, enjoyable movie. It's not just a film to make fun of-it's one that's actually worth watching.

In a post apocalyptic world, that's ravaged by zombies or in this case they are called ferals, the dead has taken over. A teen and her guardian fight for survival as they face off with relentless dangers from the living and the dead. Loyalty comes into play as the young teen is growing into maturity. Good zombie flick filled with a good story and tension. I recommend it, the acting was good. The movie was long but I wanted more as I was watching. I didn't want it to end. Overall good premise, from all involved. It's not a great movie, but I was thoroughly satisfied from start to finish. Bring on part two.

Silent Zone is a solid movie. My only gripe is a few slow parts. It's not a high budget movie but they did good for whatever amount they had to work with. Some of the other reviews are unjustly harsh. A 4, 5 or 6 star rating is correct for this one anything higher or lower is unfair. Except for a few slow parts it was quite entertaining and holds your attention. I liked how the zombies were able to "think" to a degree. It gave a nice twist on the zombie genre. The acting is not exceptional by any means but it is passable except for a couple moments of cringy acting. I probably wouldn't watch a second time but I do not regret watching once.
