    Mutually Assured Destruction

We open with Ben (Tom Pelphrey), Wendy's impulsive, empathetic and non-conformist brother losing his job as a teacher and moving in.

Ruth, Wendy & Helen each show their cunning, will-to-win and belligerence to close a deal, despite Marty's attempts to undermine them. This success could put them all in jeopardy, however.

    Another good episode

Season 3 is off to a great start. I think the changing power dynamics between Marty and Wendy are fascinating. I don't understand the hatred of Wendy. How is she any worse than Marty? Both have become sleazebags with only a few redeeming qualities. Both think of themselves as basically decent people trying to survive a rough patch in their lives yet they are both equally guilty and delusional. Why root for either one of them over the other?

Laura Linney has just ruined this show for me

I couldn't work out for the longest time why after midway through season 2 I went from loving this show to near hating it but then it dawned on me, the episodes were getting Wendy heavy and she was in nearly every scene, the episode with her and the priest was the absolute worst. I hate everything about the character, her motives, her constant hypocrisy and the fact she's a disloyal narcissist who's just an imbecile. I get it's not cool to hate ion strong women but Helen and Ruth are great although helens logic with Marty was completely flawed with the warrant as technically his actions stoped the deal which would've prevented said warrant. Everything about Wendy is rotten, as a person as a partner and a mother.

But I'm on board for badasses, women who are ruthless so writing alone doesn't anger me, the performance though is just atrocious the constant moronic smile and dumb mannerisms mixed with the awful delivery of key lines just make her painful to watch. There's 5 of us who watch who all feel the same yet never watch the show together, theres never a moment to warm to her, as the character and actor are just bad. If it wasn't for the excellent Ruth and Marty I'd completely give up, the rest of the cast are great except the KC mob boss who's just weak.

My hope is she gets killed off and or fades back to the background as she is single handedly destroying a great show

    Cringe, so many tropes

The show has so many tropes at this point its painful to watch. In this episode of Ozark, the pacing felt sluggish, with too much time spent on unnecessary subplots that didn't add much to the overall story arc. The character development seemed stagnant, failing to evoke any real emotional investment from the audience. Additionally, some of the dialogue felt forced and unnatural, detracting from the immersion of the viewing experience. Furthermore, the dialogue between characters in key moments felt contrived and unconvincing, making it difficult to fully engage with the episode. Overall, it was a lackluster installment that failed to live up to the high standards set by previous episodes of the series.

    Drama at its finest...

The entire cast is amazing, love the introduction brother Ben Davis who was a wonderful addition to the show.

Marriage Counselor: Marty, what would it look like to achieve your objectives without interfering with Wendy's project.

Martin 'Marty' Byrde: I think that that would look like death.

Marriage Counselor: But what would it really look like.

      Martin 'Marty' Byrde: Really, death.

Marriage Counselor: Okay. Marty, my mother had a saying. Just as a pie is only as good as its crust, a marriage is only as good as its trust.
