At this point, it does feel like the show is taking a much different approach than most of us thought. Instead of 8 episodes feeling like one long movie, The Mandalorian has pretty much been 6 different stories simply involving the same characters. Other than the fact that Mando & The Child are in every episode (and always in danger) the episodes have felt very episodic and unrelated to each other. It's almost like they had many ideas involving a Samurai/Western style and chose to write 8 different stories (6 so far). The show is perfectly fine, but I think we expect something different from a streaming show these days, when the idea of a show being "episodic" is almost completely non-exisistent.
And really, what can I say that is all that different from the last few weeks? Mando has a job, Baby Yoda/The Child is in danger, and at the end of the job they both fly off together. Is this not the same exact ending we've had 4-5 times now? It's unfortunate that repeating the same story beats is overshadowing these episodes for me because the action, choreography, cinematography, and the rest of the big filmmaking words are fantastic this week. I just wish at this point the show felt more like we were entering into the 3rd act of a movie, rather than at the same point we were at the end of the first episode.
7.6/10

This episode has a better pace than previous ones but is let down by a basic, episodic plot, poor acting from several of the co-stars and worse dialogue.
I'm probably going to have to accept that this show isn't going to be as deep and story driven as the first few episodes led me to believe. If this is just going to be an "adventure of the week" style show with an overarching plot, like star trek, I hope the standard can be as high as this episode (more often than not), rather than the terrible episode 4 and mediocre episode 5.
Another day another job for Mando but this time we learn more about him and his past. Plus keep a keen eye for a fun cameo. The episode doesnt progress the bigger story arc much but it's an another character episode. We learn more about Mando's past, see his bond grown stronger with his 'pet' and see more badass mando in action. Overall another great entry in the saga of the Mandalorian. -1 star for not progressing bigger story arc despite 6 episode and 75% of the season 1 in the box.
The title of my review says it all. It appears this show will mainly be bouncing from place to place, following the life of a bounty hunter. The guest appearances in this episode were awesome, especially Bill Burr. I am fine with the formulaic design for the show; this was an entertaining episode in the same tone as older Star Wars stories.

Ranzar Malk: Well, Mayfeld - he's one of the best triggermen I've seen. Former Imperial sharpshooter.
The Mandalorian: That's not saying much.
Mayfeld: I wasn't a Stormtrooper, wise-ass!
