A lot of reviews of the first episode pegged it as a glorified fan film, this episode shreds such comparison. In the thirty minutes of episode two, The Mandalorian becomes its own thing, in the vein of David S. Pumpkins.
This was an amazingly crafted episode. From start to finish it didn't waste time. There is no filler here, just good story telling. The music, the pacing, the action. Everything was on point. My only problem was that the episode itself was only around 27 minutes. This was perfect for the story it told, but I am worried that each episode is going to be short like this. I want more. Much, much more. Especially with only 8 episodes to the first season.
This episode could have been wrapped in 5 min as there was pretty much no plot just a bunch of filler. I got board waiting for something interesting to happen and ended up reading the news on m phone glancing up occasionally to see if the overly long action scenes had ended.

Is this even Disney???? No agentas, a badass character, nice story, chemistry between the protagonists, incredible production values and good old star wars feeling with all the yoda baby, droids, jawas stuff! Damn it Disney, why did you ruin Star Wars when you obviously could deliver an incredible sequel trilogy??? WHY? If you like the real, George Lucas, original movies, forget Rise of Skywalker, this is your big thing! I have spoken!

- TriviaThe Child (or baby Yoda) is a practical effect and not CGI, carrying on with the original saga of Star Wars. Animatronics are used to give a more authentic performance. However, there are exceptions. For example, it's CGI when The Child chases and eats the frog creature.
- GoofsWhen the Mandalorian throws a Jawa out of the window of the sandcrawler, the falling CGI Jawa doesn't hit the ground, but just disappears.
