WEAK PLOT WITH DECENT ACTING AND CINEMATOGRAPHY

Jaga Pacing is yet another disappointing Indonesian horror movie I have seen

The movie was intriguing for me when i started watching it but i lost all interest just after the leads entrance into the 'famous cliched house' where almost all ghost movies takes place

BUT even if I lost my interest in watching it in the middle the not so shabby bgms and convincing acting(even if the characters breakdown scene was more of funny than sad) did help me finish it

The cinematography is not bad too It captures the atmosphere of the house decently enough The plot also tried to bring in a twist which is slightly effective but there is a scene where the lead asks 'WHY ME' and the answer comes in what was supposed to be cool and savage but ended up being simply so funny and stupid.....'BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE YOU'

So yet another average experience to me Joko Anwars projects are still the decent ones when it comes to Indonesian horror flicks for me.

Not scary at all and plot that doesn't make sense

After seeing the twist at the end, you might think what's the point of the Pocong apparitions and supernatural phenomenons in the house that last for almost 1 hour? They aren't necessary at all for the plot twist and the movie doesn't explain what's their purpose at all. In fact the movie could just end in 20 minutes if the same act from the twist is done early to the protagonist just after she arrives at the house. It seems the Pocong and supernatural phenomenons were just put there as a filler to scare the audience. Nonetheless, I didn't find them to be scary at all. The Pocong are not a threat at all, they just stand still and can't attack. There is one scene in the movie that shows a standing still Pocong very clearly that lasts too long (about 30 seconds) and it's doing nothing at all to protagonist. This just shows the audience that the Pocong is nothing more than a standing still ghost puppet. There is also a problem with protagonist that acts illogically, but this seems to be common in horror movie. The plot twist revealed at the end is interesting actually, if the movie story could just focus on that thing from the plot twist without involving Pocong and haunted house stuffs all, the movie could be much better.

    Stairs

Maybe if you're bored, you can count how many times she moved up and down the stairs. I don't know what else, fell asleep halfway of the movie, maybe play it twice the speed, dialogue? Don't really care, subplot, it's there?.. I'm just wasting my time and even, never had reviews on this site but it so bad I want to see a rant about it, overall the stairs are too small, ffs.
